Scottsdale/Phoenix Car Photos Part II

Discussion in 'Car Pictures' started by dahldrin, May 23, 2008.

  1. Shot/drove the La Bala this morning. Very cool and Steve is a super cool guy. The pictures turned out nice as well, so I'm pretty excited about it and the whole project.

For anyone in the area, I would highly recommend checking out this event at the end of the month:
    http://desert-motors.com/festivalofspeed/

I'm certain there will be some very nice cars there, it's a great location (and great for photography) and it's completely free. All good things.

  3. I have a couple weeks of vacation saved up. Dont tempt me <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  5. Woooh ! Crazy cars and crazy pics (the coulour of the sky !!!)

  6. Thanks. Believe it or not, I really didn't do a whole lot to the sky. I don't know if it was just a particularly clear day, the perfect time or what, but it just came out super blue like that. I was using a polarizer, which is definitely part of it, but usually it doesn't have quite that much of an effect.

  9. Thanks, guys.

So it looks like my magazine project is going to likely be pushed back until next month. A couple guys who said they want to do it haven't gotten back to me and one of the other cars has some mechanical problems and he's waiting on a part. Might be for the best as I don't know that I'd finish it in time anyway. I wanted it done by next Tuesday.

  10. Just keep us posted on progress

  14. bump for not being on the first page. wtf.

    Hey Pat, any updates???

  15. I went to the show at Windgate Ranch this weeked I was a little disappointed that there weren't more high end exotics. I was there from 9-10:30, I don't know if any other cars showed up after I left or not.

There was a lot of very nice cars there though.

I thought I saw you there. And yeah, I was a bit let down as well, to be honest. Rob didn't show with the Veyron (or anything else) and a couple of the guys with big collections/cars weren't able to make it. I was also expecting to see some of the big hitter classics and they didn't really make it out either. But like you said, still some very nice stuff.

    Here's my gallery:

    And Otis's (DryHeatPanzer here):

  17. I just love your pics, sir dahldrin.

  18. Always good pics ! The white Miura and the 365 GT4 BB are unbelievable !

  19. The white on white Countach was incredible. Even the owner was dressed in all white.

I also seen a silver Spyker and a red Nobel driving on Bell Rd when I was on the way to the show.

  20. That's Steve. A buddy of mine and one of the primary organizers of the event. Nice guy. He also brought out the Jarama. A number of the shoots on my site are of his cars at his home (like the BBi's). I've never actually done a shoot with the Countach, though, for whatever reason. I've taken photos of it with some ladies for some promo stuff, but never just the car.

  21. Woah, I think I just got knighted. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/amazed.gif"></A>

    And thanks, Tony. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  22. Patrick, just going on that magazine idea, i think a better idea would be a book.
i know you have more than enough material for one. 100+ page glossy colour hard cover book circa $70-100 each. small amounts of text on the pages with minimal white area. can include the photoshoots aswell as the events you have covered.

    I'd buy one.

  23. That silver Dino is still one of the best-looking Ferraris I've ever seen. It's weird, because none of the Dinos I've seen in person have been anything special.

Not so keen on the Countach - why is it that 95% of post-LP400 CTs seem to have that #$%#ing hideous wing?

  24. I like this idea....."Cars of Arizona" <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

Well, haven't updated this thread or my site, really, in quite some time, but this is pretty significant:

    http://mag.desert-motors.com/

While I'd definitely appreciate feedback, input, criticism, try to keep it at least mostly constructive. Hopefully I don't even need to say that, but I've put a tremendous amount of work into this project and I've pretty much done it alone. As you can see by looking at it, not only did I put it together by myself, but I also shot and wrote everything in it.

Anyway, check it out, let me know what you think, pass it on, etc. The more readers, the better for many reasons... so if you know anyone that might think it's kinda cool, please send it to them. If you know another forum that might get a kick out of it, please post it there. I'd really like this to become something cool and something I can continue to do, but without a substantial amount of downloads/reads, it's never going to happen. Thanks!
