I signed the pre-order papers today. When my lease is up on my '15 F150 Lariat. They are re-leasing me a new 2017 F150 Raptor crew cab. It's going to be the same lease payment as my current truck.
The raptor retails for the same as a fully loaded lariat fx4. Well within a couple thousand dollars anyways. My lariat was 67k cad. The raptor I'm getting is optioned to around 68k cad. I only paid 42 for my truck after rebates trade in and discounts. But they are all transferring straight over to the new truck.
There used to be a Raptor going the same road I go to work everyday. Awesome, completely useless like all pickups are, but awesome.
kinda silly to call pickups useless though it is silly for 90% of people to own pickups, at least in urban/suburban US
Absolutely not useless. My truck is constantly loaded full of tools, concrete, building supplies, tidy tanks etc.
A van would work in certain situations. But a van is not going to haul all my tools and trailer. Or equipment through Muskeg and the woods. You aren't wrong for certain situations. But just too much of a general blanket statement. And loading things into the bed of my truck with a forklift or picker truck wouldn't be possible with a van. And having quick access to tools to just reach over and grab them out of the box of a truck. And if I'm hauling small trees that would be too tall for in a van. Or long lumber or road signage. There are height limits to a van. Also hard to fit 12x4 foot sheets of plywood or drywall. A van would have to have its doors open. Which is not functional when you are in -50 weather or through mud and Muskeg.
A truck is barely suitable for muskeg. I don't think there is a single van produced that'd be able to survive in muskeg.
I take it TSCM has you in his team for that Mongolian Rally. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
raptor is only douchey if it has those 90s graphics packages so taacckky i have trouble respecting anyone who buys a raptor with that shit
Yeah. I'm hoping they don't bring the first batch in with the decals. I either want the pearl white or the flame blue metallic. But they have 10 truck coming on the first shipment to my local dealership. And it's going to be an almost first come first serve on them.
DIGGS is the 5% of people who actually need/would use a truck like that. The other 95% are douche ****s.
