specs on original VW GTi??

    id like some more info on the original VW GTi, particularly the weight and performance stats. i did manage to find this info on the engine...

    was this car pretty quick for its day? i see it has no power, but im sure it didnt weigh anything...(maybe 1500 lbs???)

    okay, i found this...can anyone verify that?

    A good set of specs would be of help to me too, I'm looking into using one as a project base.

    i read it was the 1st fwd car to break 0-30 in under 3 seconds.

    also what do you mean it has no horsepower? anything above 80 is more than enough.

    it is an amazing car for it's time. i want to trade my audi for that or an mk2.
