why not? you see the SL55 isn't much faster than a SL600 and the SL55 isn't that much more impressive than an SL65...

SL55 - The best "value" of money. SL600 - The most refined SL65 - The most pointless (who cares if you had enough money.)
Campared to the SL500? It has quad exhaust tips like the AMG cars, as opposed to the dual tips on the SL500.
The acceleration of the SL65 is $#&%ing crazy!!! But put a corner in the equation, and it probably can't handle worth jack-shit....
