The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

  1. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

That's where you are wrong. Mustangs have been known for their handling as well as their straight line acceleration since the mid 60's.
While the cobra won't beat the EVO on many tracks (if any) it's still a great handling car.
Saying mustangs aren't good at handling is just a stereotype, just like saying all imports are r!ce...which isn't true either.

  2. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Among ALL cars, it might be considered a good handler.

Among sports/GT cars, it is at best, mediocre.

  3. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

And again you are wrong. Are you actually a 12 year old girl looking for attention maybe? Because that's the only thing I can think of why you would just continue to post BULLSH!T like that all the time.

  4. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Not so much bullshit......WHEN IT'S TRUE!!

  5. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Thing is it's not true what he said, they are great handling cars, even when put up against other sports cars.

  6. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

    LOL...you wish, fanboy.

  7. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Don't have to wish when it true. But I do wish you weren't a raging moron.

  8. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Like the man said, only mediocre when compared to other sports cars.

Hell, even the good ol' Civic has always handled better, and it's not even a sports car.

  9. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Find me a magazine (since that appears to be the limit of your experience) that states the Mustang is a good handler in comparison to a current model Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche, etc.

    I'll be waiting.

  10. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Sad, so very sad. Now you want to compare the Mustang to $150,000+ vehicles to prove that they are "bad handling" cars. That's weak even you man, really.

  11. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

    There are better handling Loti(<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>) that cost under $60,000.

And those examples were only used to show how stupid your statement is, as even though there are much lower end sports cars that handle much better, most people would laugh harder when they see that you're claiming that the Mustang handles very good in comparison to Ferraris, Porsches, & Lotuses (which you are). Most people know that a good Subaru, Honda, Nissan, GM, etc. handle better than the Mustang, but EVERYBODY knows that a Mustang doesn't even come close to the other cars mentioned.

  12. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

When did I say they were great handling car when compared to the likes of $150,000+ cars? Please show me, I'd like to see that. It can hold it's own against the likes of Honda, Subaru, Nissian, GM, etc, but I never said it could hold it's own against supercars and such did I. Like putting words in peoples mouths? You guys are pathatic.

  13. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Okay...Silvia, Skyline, Evo, WRX, Miata, Carrera, Boxter, Mini, 328, M3.....

Do I need to go on?

    How about the S2000, 350Z, type R?

Funny enough, the 40k dollar Skyline is leveled against the big names in handling. So are the Z06, Viper, Carrera, Boxter, even the 350Z!

Name a sports car the Mustang DOES outhandle....and show me the article.

  14. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Putting words in your mouth huh?

Then I suppose you won't own up to saying this?: "...they are great handling cars, even when put up against other sports cars."

Hmmm...Let's see, the only SPORTS Cars that any of the companies you listed produce, are the NSX, FairladyZ, and the Corvette, and the Mustang can't compare to ANY of those in handling (except perhaps the FairladyZ).

Meanwhile for some of the other cars those companies produce - Civic Type-R (compact sport coupe), S2000(roadster), STI (compact sport sedan), Skyline (compact sport sedan), and the Camaro (yes, I know its out of production, but it's the best example). The Mustang might, MIGHT, be able to hold its own against the Civic Type-R for handling, and possibly the Camaro, should be able to hold its own against the Subaru Legacy when it comes to handling, but will definitely NOT hold its own (for handling) against the faster models of above listed companies.

  15. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

    true dat

  16. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

    the 2001 cobra.
bet you never saw that coming.

  17. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

    ???WTF????

  18. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Wait, LOL, I just got it....nevermind, that was a great response, and so true, so true.

  19. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

LOL...so again you are comparing appleS to oranges moron. The NSX, Corvette, s2000, STI, Skyline, lol, they are all A LOT MORE MONEY. I would hope the would out handle a GT idiot.
Also when does a car have to out handle every other car on the road to be seen as a great handling vehicle? I never said it would out handle ever car on the road did I. I said it was a great handling car.

  20. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

the STI is $31,000, very close the the cobra.

  21. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

    The Silvia costs less.
    The Type R costs less.
    The Pulsar GTI-R costs less.
    The Cedric costs less.
    The MarkIV cost less.
    The Laurel cost less.
    The 180SX cost less.

Your going to complain about comparing a 24k dollar car to a 40k car, while that same 40k dollar car is VERY often compared to 80,90, and 100+ thousand dollar cars?!

  22. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

The 99 Skyline R34 on this site says it is $89,500 USD so that would mean it is a good comparison to the NSX when considering bang for the buck. You only paid 40 grand because you purchased an older used model from a private party... correct?

  23. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

You could have brought a new one in for 67k if you had so desired. 90k is the asking price for a car Motorex found, paperworked, shipped etc. with a finder's premium on it.

I paid approx 35k and that includes all the engine/suspension/brake work I have done on it.

  24. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII

Bored Up...I know this is off subject...but since we're talking about skylines...can you go over the pricings? I'm getting confused...

How much is it for an R34 GTR?

    R33

    R32

What options...blah blah blah....and what good aftermarkets should you check out?

  25. Re: The Cobra vs Lancer EVO VIII
