The Game Thread XXXII

1. It would be well worth watching at the cinemas as well.
2. I'm going buying a PC now just for that.
3. oh heres a game he liked
4. Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
5. let me guess, you played the campaign on normal
6. I thought Fallout 3 was pretty meh to be honest. As Inno said, the story was weak and your character displays no emotion whatsoever, so is very hard to bond with. It also felt an awful lot like Oblivion. It had nowhere near the production values of Mass Effect; ME felt like you were playing in a film and made F3 feel like a 5 year old game.
7. 10 years ago, graphics where shit
8. Mass Effect had a pretty good story, especially if you soaked in the racism bits too. It was good at setting a slightly disturbing tone if you went the Renegade route, and engaged in all the racism.

Fallout 3 did have a meh story, but was otherwise great.
9. it had a meh story but it gave you so much freedom you cant fault it too much

imo Freedom trumps story
10. sure the story and characters aren't as good but really thats one of the leasat important parts of a game

the gameplay in fallout 3 was so great i pooped a little
11. I put 40 hours into F3, so it certainly wasn't bad. There was just nothing spectacular about it, for me. The only thing it really did well was the huge open world thing, and I'd much rather have a great story to pull me into the game than a load of random, unconnected quests I have to search for ages to find and that don't have much consequence on each other.

I'm going to attempt something I've never tried before--play all of BF:BC's multiplayer maps in a row.

I know a few of you guys own it for PS3 so you're welcome to join me. I'll obviously be playing both Attacker and Defender and I estimate that it'll probably take about 5-6 hours depending on how successful each team is.

The action starts in 90 minutes (3pm PST) so hopefully I'll see you on the battlefield.
13. Xmen Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition is pretty good mindless fun. Graphics are pretty nice (UE3) and it's exceptionally gory, almost hilariously so. There are a few annoying glitches though, like a boss not triggering until I ran all the way back and forth through the level.
14. What game will you be renting next?
15. What I did was rent Smarty Pants Wii to play with friends at night, and swap for Wolverine during the morning. I think I'm going to get Mario Super Sluggers Wii tonight as my coop game, and get Wolverine again tomorrow since I'm not done with it, and only play for a little bit each day before I do homework.

Eventually when I finish with Wolverine, I'm thinking possibly Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise (if Prototype isn't out by then), followed by Prototype.
