    I have a plan to unite the community

    Exactly four years ago today, many of us did battle in rFactor for the title of 'Best driver on'. Back then the game was still in beta form but it allowed people to race online for free. It was the first time our community had all been united in such a way and great fun was had by all. Over the years that followed, 22 members actually bought the full game and our Racing League was formed.

    As it stands right now rFactor 2 is currently in development and that's a good thing because the original is starting to show its age. Newer games like iRacing have come along with better physics, prettier graphics, and more features. Another game that's really raised the bar lately is netKar Pro.

    First released back in 2006, netKar Pro is the product of one man's vision. It had a really rough launch and many people in the sim-racing community didn't gravitate towards it at first, but he's been refining it over the years and version 1.03 was just released a few weeks ago. It improves every area of the game and it also includes a really generous free-to-play online trial mode. And that brings us to today.

    I've been playing around with the netKar Pro demo this week and it's a really solid game. The graphics and physics are both better than what you'll find in rFactor, and the overall realism is much higher as well. This is a proper sim. So today, on the four-year anniversary of our first online grudge match, I propose that we reunite to see who's the best driver on

    The demo includes access to all of the tracks and the entry-level car (1600cc Formula Ford). And I strongly encourage you to flip through the PDF manual that comes with it because some things are rather confusing.

    Right-click, save as:

    Either way, I'll be hosting a server for us all day starting at 10am (about 40 minutes from now).

    Hopefully you can join us on track at some point today. <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>

  23. I'm the best driver on

  24. STFU

    i'd lol if Fudas was banned for being such a whiney #%[email protected]
  25. Yeah, the required specs aren't too bad...

    * 1.7Ghz processor or higer
    * 512MB of RAM
    * 64MB graphics card with Directx 8.0 support
    * 1GB of hard disk free space
    * Microsoft .NET 1.1 framework

    And if any of you live near a Circuit City store, you can buy a wired Xbox 360 controller for just $25 now.

    edit: Don't link to individual Microsoft packages like that. Potentially harmful to the computer. All .NET packages should be installed sequentially with other windows updates.
