Thankyou maranelloboy. There were only 448 made. You cant begin to compare it to a 360. The 550 is a much bigger car, its not as tossable as a 360. It weighs a hell ofa lotmore too. But, it has so much more HP and more importantly, alot more torque. I too have notiecd that everyone here seems to have a relative with the car, but the fact is i;ve been in a barchetta, #66 of 448. You can see that individual car in the road and track article from last spring or summer. The guy lives near me and i go to ferrari events with him. And, no im not full of shit. List on this car is 284k, IMO thats alot of cash to drop on a car, but if you have that extra cash lying around, you might as wellgo for it.
So, in closing, they are different cars, the 360 hits its 6th gear redline at 180, and its 0-60 is ~4.5. There you go, your 360 is NOT faster (i also doubt you have one.) FORZA FERRARI
Heres one of me in the barchetta, sorry for the crappy pic quality

Damn, you dumb, whomever started this thread. According to Car & Driver, this car costs $250k, not $350k... and while the perfomance isn't excellent, I'll bet you it'll beat your little Mitsubishi Eclipse!!!<!-- Signature -->

  3. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

Not to mention that not too many people have the balls to be driving a car on the street at almost 190 mph

  4. this car doesnt blow out a lot of speed and horsepower. The 360 spider f1 i have can beat it, and it isnt even close to the price range. If you wanna get this car, people sell it to you for 350,000. I think its because they produced only a little of them. Just imagine how much theyll sell the yellow one!!!

  5. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

    186 mph top speed...low performance...yeah...dumbass.

the yellow one? do you think there's only one yellow 550 Pf ?
this car isnt as fast around a track as a 360 spider but who cares? this car is a beauty and was made for cruising on italian coast roads not for the nurburgring !

No offence, but I have a hard time believing that your 360 spider F1 would blow away the 550 barchetta. Even if it won the difference would be almost insignificant. I think the barchetta mixes class and performance beautifully. Its expensive because its a nice car...not because its fast.

  8. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

That isin't the point. aYou can supe the hell out of a piece of shit car and get THE SAME FUCKING PREFORMANCE!!! You get the ferrari name.<!-- Signature -->

Stupid ass clown. I suppose you don't know that convertibles lose a lot off their top speeds because the aerodynamics aren't as good. Yes! that's right! I still say 186 mph is fast enough; the 456 is a coupe and it does the same. Don't forget that this is a limited production run of 448 units either. It SHOULD demand a lot of dough. You're just and ogre-ass #%$got enforcer.

  10. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

I think this car is a sweet car it is fast and is a Ferrari this car is pricey but for what you are getting it is realistic. i think because of the demand the price is what it is.

  11. Re: Too freaking expensive for a low performance car

  12. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

Stupid ass-clown. Don't you know that convertibles lose a lot off their top-end speeds?! Still, 186 mph is really fast; a Ferrari 456 does the same as a COUPE! If you want to dis a really expensive, low performance car then go make fun of Rolls Royce or something. I know I wouldn't pay $375,000 for a new one! You obviously have no idea what you're talking about you ogre-ass uncle fuker.

  13. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

It's funny going around all the forums. We get so caught up in crazy-fast cars, we don't stop and realize that 186 mph is faster than most of us have ever been and will ever go in our lifetimes.<!-- Signature -->

  14. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

This car is only expensive because it's #$%#ing gorgeous. Also, the fact only 200 were made adds to the price tag. Besides, its a Ferrari!! Who cares how much it costs. If you complain about the price, you're jealous because you can't afford it. The car is an absolutely wonderful drive, believe me. (the guy down the road has one). There is no way my 360 F1 could beat it either. Do your homework before complaining about Pininfarina's cars.

Am I the only one that posts on this site that doesn't own or have a neighbor or an uncle with a Ferrari or a McLaren or a GT2? Does that piss anybody else off?

  16. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

  19. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

Correct. I actually got to see chassis number 001 at Ferrari of Central Florida a while back.

  20. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

    Stupidity has gone beyond limits.

  21. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

    indeed it has...

  22. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

Set 'em straight Boy! I hate it when no one knows what they're talking about.

  23. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

Actually, VMIFerrari, the 550 Barchetta can go for more than a RR Cornice, at almost $390k. You can get them cheaper, but it probobly has RELATIVELY high milage (5-10k, I guess) and is damaged, ever so slightly, somehow (bent piping, bent rims, etc.).

  24. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

I've never heard of a 550 Barchetta going for THAT much. I have only seen them for sale up to $345,000. $390,000 is really pushing it.

  25. Re: Too Freaking expensive for a low performance car!!!

Betcha $20 you don't have a 360 Spyder F1. If you do then what is the chassis number?
