Re: top speed In an interview with '60 minutes' Michael Schumacher said the car will reach 370 km/h (230 mph) on the straight at Monza, but he also said that if they wanted to, they could exceed 500 km/h (310 mph) if they set it up for top speed only (minimum downforce and long gearing). The engine develops probably around 850-900 bhp, and the reason theses engines aren't used in road cars is because they have a design life of 600km, they have no flywheel, so if you let the revs drop below 6000rpm you will stall, they generate very little power until 8000 rpm and they rev to 18-19000 rpm, can you imagine trying to drive this on the road?

The drag could never let them. The two spoilers just being there limits anything over 250 mph.<!-- Signature -->
Re: top speed You can expect speeds in excess of 230 MPH, ONLY if you run a low downforce setup. It kinda sucks, though, because the cars handle like dogs without good downforce.
