    Thanks guys.

Yeah, it's pretty badass. It's the same one I've seen about a dozen times now (including a few times right in my neighborhood). When everyone was leaving they all got on it pretty good. That Gemballa especially. He slid it around a couple of corners. There were a number of cars that I'd say broke the 100mph mark while leaving (despite the road being a 35 or 45 zone). Some guys were even stopping in the middle of the road and launching. However, there was very little traffic and at no point did they do anything I'd call reckless or dangerous. At one point a police van drove by, right at the same time that TT Viper was doing a u-turn to take off and basically run the 1/4mi.

One thing I didn't realize at the time was how powerful some of these cars are. That Gemballa puts out 575hp and that TT Viper is pushing 1600hp (!!!) and runs an 8.90s 1/4mi at 150mph! The silver GT2 (EVOMS GT700) is making 778hp and the black SL65 Renntech makes 705hp, 985 lb/ft torque and runs 10.85s at 130mph.

I always find your photos underexposed. No offenz. Just a criticism.

I definitely always go darker on my photos. Just a personal preference I guess. I like dark shadows and high contrast. Though, I think most of these seem pretty "normal". Also, it probably varies a lot from monitor to monitor. My monitor is supposedly color/brightness calibrated using a Pantone Huey, so it should be a good starting point. My brother got it for me for Christmas. It's pretty cool. You stick it on the monitor and it does color patterns and stuff and calibrates it, then you stick it in a cradle and it constantly adjusts it to match the room's lighting.

Maybe. I've seen them from a few monitors though.
Do you do a lot of touchup with contrast in Photoshop?

I edit everything from RAWs, so yeah. Like I said, they're definitely on the dark side, but most of them aren't TOO bad, are they?

EDIT: But then, maybe I'm just used to it. Still, when I look at other photos online and such, mine don't appear to be TOO far off in exposure.

EDIT2: I think part of it comes from shooting in the Phoenix sun so much. A lot of times if I don't underexpose it, the light is so bright that it blows out a lot of details when I up the contrast at all.

Wow those hp numbers are pretty nuts.

Scottsdale Exotic Car Club Lunch (05/19/07)

Just had another SECC event. Well, sort of. There were a bunch of cars there that weren't in the club. It was basically SECC+Porsches. Just the start of the cruise a cruise this time. I got there late and unfortunately didn't drive with them, so I didn't end up with a ton of photos. Though, next month I'll likely ride in someone's car and snap shots along the way.

Right after that event I cruised over to the Scottsdale Automall to take some pics as I was bummed with the amount of photos I was able to get. I also took some pics in the Penske Racing Museum, but I have to get permission from them before posting them.

    Awsome pics !

You are so lucky to have those weekly shows near you.

    I must struggle here to find interesting cars <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>

  18. Yeah, it's nice. Unfortunately due to where it was parked, that's the only photo I was able to get of it. Though, I've seen it a few different times now. Here's another nice and a not-so-nice photo of it.

  19. Thanks. And yeah, I love it. The car/bike "scene" here is actually one of the main reasons I wanted to move her. Pavilions is supposedly the largest weekly car show in the nation (300-500 cars and as many as 150 bikes on an average night), there are like five exotic dealers within 10 miles, there are a bunch of clubs that are doing things regularly, Barrett-Jackson is held about a mile from my house, etc. There are also a bunch of serious shops in the area (Science of Speed, some big local tuner shops, a bunch of offroad shops including one that has won the Baja 1000 multiple times). Basically night-and-day compared to where I lived before moving here (Fairbanks, Alaska).

  20. Finishing up editing photos from Saturday morning. Some nice stuff out there. The full gallery isn't up yet, but it should be shortly.

  22. Hmm, didn't think these were quite as good as your usual batch... Maybe because of the lighting, or because they're less dark/intensely coloured than usual. That's not to say they were bad at all, but they weren't quite up to your usual standards IMO.

  23. Hahaha, thanks I guess. Interestingly, these are some of my personal favorites thus far. Strange.

  24. Great shots as always man.
