Voting contest 21

Discussion in 'Artwork - Photoshops and Sketches' started by Porsche addict, Jan 28, 2007.

  1. I didn't have much time to work on my chop because of exams and I'm not really happy with it but I entered it anyway. A total of 6 chops isn't bad, I expected less. Still I see that the contests with supercars are a lot harder and the results are less different than the ones with normal cars.

Your vote should be based on originality, quality and overal look of the chops.

    Cast your votes please.

note: participants shouldn't vote for their own creation.
  2. very nice entries this time, i like 1 very much, but 6 looks a little bit better, allthough it's not technically good as 1.
  3. I was going to go 6, then I noticed the reflections in #1 . . . 1 gets my vote.
  4. i've forgot to send mine.. what an idiot.. its too late i suppose too add it right <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>?
  6. Well I can't change the poll...
  7. yeah you are right... <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
  8. well you can still just post it in here to show it
  9. 5 or 1 I can't decide
  10. Number 2, hands down. Great work to whoever did it.

Number 1 is good, but not nearly as good as 2.
Number 3, wow, number 3.... for some reason I'm thinking XJ220 front end.
Number 4 is way too Need for Speed.
    Number 5 is apparently turbocharger.
Number 6 is also good. I like the BBS's, but not in gold.

Number 2, hands freaking down. I love it.
  11. which one is Dalhdrin's?
  12. Isn't it a little early to be saying who's who?

EDIT: I'm not going to confirm/deny anything at this point, but which would you guess is mine?
  13. #1 or #6, it is a very touch choice, but i voted #6 .

I dig the front, it looks cool and it is pretty different from the stock car.

    A great shop, #6
  14. I liked the number two best cuz he fixed the little details so good! <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

I loved the rims on car number six and that car was also nice but the little details wasn't so well fixed on that one so..
  15. The truth has been spoken..
  16. #6 because it looks like a Mosler.
  17. i'm dissapointed <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/angry.gif"></A>
  18. Just post it in here anyways.
  19. Uh, number 1?

My entry is horrible this time around, I'm not surprised it's getting few votes <A BORDER="0" HREF=""><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
  20. 6 looks clean and production feasible.
  21. I don't know if it's too early to do this, but in previous contests, voting has seriously slowed down at this point, so here goes.

When rating Photoshops like this, I like at a number of things (in no particular order):

    1) Number of changes.
    2) Quality of changes.
    3) Overall design (consistency and overall appearance).

So, here's how I feel about each entry. If you don't like criticism, don't read. I don't mean to offend anyone, just trying to be constructive.

    1) Mine. Here's some of the stuff I did:
-Car is shortened (both in height and length) and narrowed slightly.
-Front fascia is completely reworked, obviously.
-Hood lines/emblems and other body-lines/gaps have been removed.
-Body gaps have been replaced/moved so that it could all still open.
-Headlights have been reshaped and and reflectors have been replaced with projectors.
-Hood and roof vents are reshaped.
    -Windshield wipers removed.
-Mirrors have been reshaped, requiring rebuilding of areas covered by original mirrors.
-Front fender has been reshaped slightly.
    -Side window/c-pillar has been reshaped.
-B-pillar has been narrowed and upper door hinges have been cleaned up.
-Upper side scoop has been enlarged, rounded and lower scoop has been removed. All gills removed.
-Rear fender/window sill has been reshaped (for a more curved shoulder).
-Rear wing has been molded into a ducktail-ish spoiler.
-Rear overhang has been shortened (length) and lengthened (height).
-Wheels have been replaced and car's paint was whitened.
-All reflections have been corrected to match all changes.

That's most of it anyway... I just sort of wanted to do this because I think sometimes subtle changes go unnoticed and sometimes the small changes require the most work (like the mirrors). Just thought it would be interesting to go through and list everything I can remember.

    2) While most of the changes are done well, there really aren't too many changes. I don't see too many errors, but a couple that jump out at me are the front fascia reflections, slightly off shading on passenger's fender where headlight was changed and I can still see a hint of where the divider was on the driver's smaller front intake. Aside from those, most of the changes are well done. It's nice to see that the side reflections have been edited to match the changes, including the reflections of the gills on the large side scoop.

    3) I get the impression that whoever was working on this ran out of time. The overall idea is kind of strange, but again, I get the impression that this is do to it simply not being finished. Many of the changes are a little rough (such as the wiper removal) and the reflections not matching REALLY jump out when you make such drastic changes to the body.

    4) Same as some of the others, the reflections not being correct hurt this one. The black areas also look very unnatural. Also, like some of the others, I simply don't feel there isn't enough changed.

    5) Like the others, the reflections hurt. As does not changing the wheels. This is another one where I get the impression that the creator ran out of time or got bored and quit. The majority of the car is untouched. While the front fascia intakes look nice, the middle one looks odd and unnatural, almost impossible. It also looks like the grill/mesh was seriously hurt by the compression/resizing of the image. While that sucks, it's something I'd probably change after resizing so that you don't get that odd pattern across it.

    6) Again, not a whole lot done and the reflections aren't correct. That hurts. The wheels jump out, but not really in a good way. The angles and such seem to be fine, but the color/brightness/contrast looks a little off and the choice of wheels REALLY makes the lack of correct reflection jump out.
