Weight of this car?

  1. any one knows the weight of this car? less weight means good handle!
  2. Re: Weight of this car?

No matter what the weight of this car is, it will still handle good just because it is a Supercar.
U cant expect supercar makers to leave out the handling part and just focus soley on speed.
  3. Re: Weight of this car?

    a 1550kg target was set
  4. Re: Weight of this car?

    Are you sure?
400kg more than mclaren! that's too heavy.
    disappointed <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
  5. Re: Weight of this car?

the Veyron has a luxury interior (heavy) it has 4WD (heavy) it has a bigger engine (heavy) it has 4 intercooled turbos (heavy)

even so, it still demolishes the F1s power/weight ratio and the torque/weight is in a different league
  6. Re: Weight of this car?

If Bugatti attains 1550 kg (3417 lb), that would be great! The EB110 was in the neighborhood of 3900 lb (1769 kg). So, even if this car ended up weighing 4000 lb, the power-to-weight ratio would be 4.05 lb/hp (using the SAE net figure of 987 hp). The torque-to-weight ratio would be 4.34 lb/lb-ft. By comparison, the McLaren F1 (not the LM, just the "plain" old F1) weighs about 2700 lb (depending on your source, up to 2900 lb). So, the McLaren F1's power-to-weight (using 2700 lb) is 4.31 lb/hp and the torque-to-weight ratio is 5.64 lb/lb-ft.
  7. Re: Weight of this car?

if it ends up a 3400 lbs imma be amazed! a car this big (wide i mean) with a big engine, 4wd, turbos, and more. not to mention the diamonds on the dash prob weigh it down too >) oh well, it prb has to have fairly good handleing, you have to have good traction to handle 1000 hp, AWD helps, 3400 lbs aint that much, this car is crazy wide. it has to have alot of downforce to keep it on the ground at 250 mph, so this thing all around kicks ass!

Diamonds on the dash is the 2nd coolest thing ever. the mclarens middle seat will never be surpassed in ultimate coolness. >)
  8. Re: Weight of this car?

On Nurbring track, Porsche GT2 achieved 7:44, 4 seconds (great difference!)faster than Murcielago. Murci has 580 hp vs GT2 460 hp,also Murci is 4WD vs GT2 RWD ,Murci even has better power/weight ratio! So why Murci is such a loser on track? Reason is simple, it is too heavy! 300kg heavier than GT2!
    another example,Lotus elise(which only has 118hp) is faster than Z06(406hp!) around a corner (680kg vs 1440kg <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>)!

So keep in mind that less absolute weight is more important than good power/weight ratio and 4WD(nonsense?).especially for these super cars.

1550 kg may be a great achievement for Bugatti, but it still need
reduce weight, I don't want to see Veyron become another loser.

PS- current fastest stock car on Nurbring is Pagani Zonda C12s,
wide 2050mm, if anyone think wide means big, this car is even bigger than bugatti. C12s weight only 1250kg also with luxury
interior. So why Bugatti can't do so?
  9. Re: Weight of this car?

The pagani could have good amenities, but it's nothing when you see the veyron Interior. From luxury to luxury, I'd rather prefer the veyron, by far. I think It will handle very well, doesn't matter of the mass(1550 kg, or that you said), of course I will never have the handling response of a lotus elise, or a NSX neither, but; have you seen those wheels? Oh, man that's what I call BIG! Also It looks very well balanced for the track, could maybe achieve 1G on a skidpad.

Whatever, I can't complaint, since it reaches 300 in less than 14 secs.
  10. Re: Weight of this car?

another looser??????? wat do u mean you dont wanna se veyron become another looser? bugatti has never been a LOOSER
  11. Re: Weight of this car?

What is the Zonda's time around Nurburgring? I'd be curious to know? Surely an impressive car<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
