Why do the Euro countries get all the fun?

Discussion in '2002 Mini Hamann Cooper S' started by VwTypeOfGuy1, Aug 10, 2002.

  1. Why do the over seas countries get all the fun? Audi sells their RS4,S3 and S2.VW sells their R32 GTI and Alpina sells tuned BMWs over seas. The only problem with this MINI is that the wheels look to big and the front sporlier doesnt look right without side ones. The motor is so close to 100 cubic inches, why not give it the extra 3 inches and add Borla exhaust.Add carbon fiber side sporliers and hood, bore the motor out to a 1.8 and import it.Atleast some companies are getting the picture, why not all of them.

That would be too expensive for the US.

The Mini is also too small compared to US standards of taste.

    Being European is soooooooooooo good ! <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A> <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

I hear ya bro. too many assholes on US roads is my guess.

    1) North American Emissions standards are a *****
    2) North American safety stanards are a ***** too.

Also, a look at the bastards that think all American car manufactures should just make muscle cars without regard for enviromental concerns or any shit like that. They are the people that get noticed, and thus, that's what automotive manufacturers think is the standard norm.
Thus, Caterhams are little known cars over here, people don't respect the Mini. And many go, "Now what the #$%# is an Ariel Atom? A breakfast cereal?"

If there is a market in the US for these types of modifications then I'm sure there would be companies willing to do it. The problem is there isn't much of a market at all. There is more of a market for people wanting to put DUBS on their POS Escalades.

Not too small for our standards, there are huge waiting lists in the US for Minis and they're everywhere on the roads, though I dont really care for them.

  12. Re: Why do the Euro countries get all the fun?

    gee let's see:
    they prefer rally over NASCRAP.
they've got their heads on straight on what a real car should be
they don't have hicks and dumb-asses all over the place
the people that live in the USA are yuppies who are convinced the only way to live real is to drive a humongous friggin truck or suv and that the mini serves no point.

WHY OH WHY MUST I LIVE IN THE USA AND NOT IN ENGLAND?! I HATE CALIFORNIA!
