ASTON MARTIN V8 ZAGATO

A 1986 Aston Martin V8 Zagato Prototype Is Now For Sale

Collectors Rejoice and Prepare to Buy

The Aston Martin V8 Zagato is a rare car with only about 50 models being built. The model you see here is even more special. It’s one of just three prototype V8 Zagatos ever built and one of two with right-hand drive. Pendine Historic Cars is a classic car dealer, and it has this unique model for sale right now for the price of $670,000, according to Carscoops.

The 1986 Aston Martin V8 Zagato prototype is marked chassis 20011. This car was commissioned for Aston Martin enthusiast Wensley Hayden-Baillie. Baillie was a good friend of the Aston Martin chairman, Victor Gauntlett. It has a beautiful red exterior, a breathtaking black interior, and is one of the few cars with the 432 hp engine. It also has been lightened and features an integral roll bar.

There were only four cars built with that special engine. According to the seller, Autocar managed to get one of those cars to do a 0-60 mph run in just 4.8 seconds and top out at 186. That’s fast today, but it was absolutely insane in the 1980s. This particular prototype was restored by Auto Restorations, which is a Pebble Beach-winning facility. The car has had single ownership for more than 20 years.
