Revuelto Hybrid V12 Takes on Aventador Ultimae in Drag Race

For decades, Lamborghini has built its reputation on V12 fury. The Countach, Diablo, Murciélago, and Aventador all carried the naturally aspirated torch, delivering thunderous soundtracks and uncompromising drama. But the future is here with the Lamborghini Revuelto—the brand’s first V12 plug-in hybrid supercar.

The question is: can the new V12 plug-in hybrid supercar eclipse the last and greatest old-school Aventador Ultimae? That’s what we are about to find out in this drag race organized by the folks from CarExpert on YouTube.

The Lamborghini Revuelto pairs a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with three electric motors, producing a combined 1,001 horsepower and sending power through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Performance figures reflect this: the Revuelto reaches 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and continues to a top speed of 217 mph.

Facing it is the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae, the swan song of the Aventador line. Its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 produces 769 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, paired with the familiar seven-speed single-clutch ISR transmission. The Ultimae accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 mph.

Although the Aventador put up some fight, the results favored the Revuelto. From a standing start, both cars launched cleanly, but the Revuelto immediately proved its advantage. The Aventador’s explosive off-the-line traction couldn’t match the hybrid’s instant torque delivery. By the time first gear was out, the Aventador was left behind. Even with perfect launches, the Revuelto consistently dominated.

At 30 km/h, the results were even clearer. The Aventador’s ISR gearbox lagged with every shift, while the Revuelto’s dual-clutch system fired through gears seamlessly. Once the hybrid system was in full stride, the Aventador never stood a chance.
