Porsche is celebrating what would have been the 90th birthday of design icon Ferdinand Alexander “F. A.” Porsche the only way it knows how: with a limited-production 911 that merges heritage, craftsmanship, and hardcore engineering into one deeply personal tribute. Meet the 2027 Porsche 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche, a Sonderwunsch creation limited to just 90 units worldwide, and one destined for F. A.โs son, Mark Porsche.
F. A. Porsche wasnโt simply the man who penned the original 911, he shaped Porscheโs entire design philosophy: clean lines, purposeful forms, and mechanical honesty. The new GT3 special edition channels that spirit by drawing inspiration from the G-body 911 that F. A. drove in the 1980s. The most striking homage? A brand-new heritage color called F. A. Green metallic, developed with input from the Porsche family as a modern echo of the Oak Green metallic worn by his own car.
Itโs paired with Satin Black Sport Classic wheels, a finish never before offered on a GT3 Touring, and special 1963-style Porsche crests on the center-lock hubs. A gold plaque reading โ90 F. A. Porscheโ adorns the rear decklid grille, setting the tone for whatโs unmistakably a collector-grade machine.
Underneath the bespoke touches lies the proven firepower of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, the most understated way to experience Porscheโs race-bred engineering. The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six sings to 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, paired with the adaptive rear spoiler unique to the Touring. Itโs the puristโs GT3, dialed into something more emotional than its track-focused sibling.
Inside, the storytelling becomes even more personal. The cabin is wrapped in Truffle Brown Club Leather with Limestone stitching, but the centerpiece is the seat fabric: a five-color F. A. grid-weave pattern inspired by the sport coat F. A. Porsche wore daily in his home office. The pattern, woven from black, green, truffle brown, cream, and Bordeaux red threads, reappears again on the glovebox and even the frunk mat.
An open-pore walnut shift lever, a nod to F. A.โs affinity for natural materials, a Sport Chrono clock styled after his personal Chronograph, gold plaques, signature engravings, and a “One of 90” designation on the dashboard
This is a GT3 curated like a museum piece, but meant to be driven. Porsche Design accompanies each car with an exclusive Chronograph 1 โ F. A. Porsche Edition. Built by hand in Switzerland and COSC-certified, it features vintage-style Super-LumiNova meant to evoke aged radium, F. A.โs initials on the dial, and a rotor designed to mirror the carโs wheels. Owners can swap between a titanium bracelet and a leather strap trimmed to match the carโs interior.
A special Weekender travel bag is included as well, rounding out a package that feels more like a curated lifestyle collection than a typical options list.
The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche starts at $387,000, before taxes, fees, and any further personalization. Buyers will enter a dedicated one-on-one Sonderwunsch consultation program, where they can tailor their example before production begins in mid-2026.
F. A. Porsche once said, “When you consider the function of a product, in most cases the form follows suit automatically.” This limited GT3 follows that mantra faithfully. Itโs functional, emotional, and deeply tied to the legacy of the man who shaped Porscheโs identity.
With only 90 cars planned, itโs destined to be one of the most collectible modern 911s, and perhaps the most personal Porsche tribute in decades.
