Now available through RM Sotheby’s with an estimated value of $2.85 million to $3.5 million, this exceptional 2018 Bugatti Chiron represents one of the most significant hypercars of the modern era. As one of approximately 200 examples from the original production run, the car presents a rare opportunity to acquire a landmark model that marked the pinnacle of Bugatti’s celebrated W16-powered lineage.
The Chiron emerged as the successor to the groundbreaking Bugatti Veyron, a machine that redefined automotive performance and established new benchmarks for speed and engineering excellence. At the heart of the Chiron lies Bugatti’s legendary 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine, reengineered to produce an astonishing 1,479 horsepower.
Paired with an advanced drivetrain and a newly developed titanium exhaust system, the hypercar can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds. Equipped with the marque’s High-Speed Key, the Chiron is electronically limited to 420 km/h, ensuring both extraordinary performance and tire durability at extreme velocities.
Introduced at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Chiron was limited to 500 units worldwide, with demand so strong that a substantial portion of production was spoken for before customer deliveries even began. This particular example showcases one of the model’s most desirable specifications, finished in exposed Grey Carbon fiber bodywork—a premium option that added more than €255,000 to the original purchase price.
The dramatic exterior is enhanced by an aluminum signature line, matching grille surround, diamond-cut Nocturne wheels, and Cast Grey brake calipers. Inside, the cabin reflects Bugatti’s commitment to luxury craftsmanship. Beluga Black and Gris Rafale leather upholstery is complemented by silver contrast stitching, while the optional Comfort seats elevate long-distance usability without compromising exclusivity.
Originally delivered through Bugatti Tokyo in May 2018, the Chiron remained meticulously maintained throughout its life, undergoing routine inspections while accumulating remarkably few kilometers. Acquired by its current owner in 2023 and subsequently registered in the United Arab Emirates, the car received subtle cosmetic enhancements, including Chiron Super Sport-inspired racing stripes and a distinctive “9” grille motif.
Showing just 1,848 kilometers at the time of cataloging and accompanied by its original accessories case, key box, battery conditioner, and owner’s manuals, this Chiron is an exceptionally preserved example of Bugatti’s engineering masterpiece. With the marque’s upcoming hybrid-powered successor, the Tourbillon, signaling the end of the W16 era, the Chiron has secured its place in automotive history as the final chapter of one of the most remarkable engine programs ever created.
