Now listed on Bring a Trailer, this 2006 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo Competition Package represents one of the rarest and most capable American-built supercars ever produced. Introduced in 2005, the S7 Twin Turbo elevated Saleen’s original mid-engine flagship by adding twin Garrett turbochargers to its all-aluminum 7.0-liter V8, generating 5.5 psi of boost.
Factory output climbed to an astonishing 750 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 700 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm, while advanced engine management through Saleen’s PowerFlash system and coil-on-plug ignition ensured precise performance. Cooling was enhanced by a carbon-fiber front intake feeding dual aluminum radiators.
Aerodynamic revisions played a major role in the Twin Turbo’s performance. A redesigned front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear wing increased downforce by approximately 60 percent, improving stability at extreme speeds. Coupled with a six-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential, the S7 Twin Turbo was capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in an estimated 2.7 seconds before reaching a claimed 248-mph top speed. Just 30 examples were built between 2005 and 2006.
Completed in January 2006, chassis 06-069 returned to Saleen later that year to become one of only five Twin Turbos upgraded with the coveted Competition Package. Purchased by the current owner in 2014, the car underwent a comprehensive rebuild of its twin-turbocharged V8 by Indy Engine Group in 2016. It is finished in striking Lizstick Red over a black leather interior accented with red trim.
The Competition Package introduced additional carbon-fiber aerodynamic components, including an enlarged rear wing, front splitter, and revised rear diffuser. Phil Frank’s distinctive autoclave-cured carbon-fiber bodywork remains intact, highlighted by butterfly doors, roof-mounted air intake, sculpted side ducting, and a full aerodynamic underbody.
Rolling on staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged center-lock wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, the S7 employs Brembo six-piston calipers with massive slotted and ventilated discs measuring 15 inches up front and 14 inches at the rear. Unequal-length double-wishbone suspension with coilover dampers provides race-inspired handling.
Inside, fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather and red cloth feature Sparco four-point harnesses, while amenities such as air conditioning, power windows, brushed aluminum accents, and a flip-out Kenwood touchscreen multimedia system balance comfort with purpose. The upgraded Competition Package also increased engine output to 850 horsepower, cementing this exceptionally rare S7 as one of the most formidable road-going American supercars ever built.
