Carwow puts the new Lamborghini Temerario through an unusually demanding performance test, matching the Italian hybrid supercar against two high-output Chinese electric performance cars from Denza before bringing in a heavily modified Suzuki Hayabusa. The program goes beyond conventional standing-start drag races, incorporating rolling acceleration and braking tests to examine how each machine converts its power into real-world performance.
The Temerario brings a sophisticated hybrid powertrain to the contest. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 works with electric motors and an eight-speed automatic transmission, while additional motors drive the front axle to provide all-wheel drive. With a system output approaching 1,000 Nm of torque and a relatively low mass of around 1.8 tonnes, the Lamborghini enters the contest with a significant power-to-weight advantage over its first rival.
That rival is the Denza Z9 GT, a large luxury performance fastback powered by three electric motors. Its combined output reaches approximately 1,156 horsepower and 1,210 Nm of torque, backed by a substantial 120-kWh battery. However, its considerable 2.9-tonne weight presents a significant engineering challenge, particularly during braking and changes in direction.
After the initial matchup, the test escalates dramatically with the Denza Z Racing. Its three-motor all-wheel-drive configuration produces an extraordinary 1,604 horsepower and 1,240 Nm of torque, while its lower mass makes it considerably more formidable in straight-line acceleration. Multiple standing and rolling races reveal how traction, tire temperature, power delivery, and sustained acceleration influence the results.
The final challenger is a supercharged Suzuki Hayabusa prepared by TTS Performance. Its 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine has been enlarged and fitted with a substantial supercharger, producing roughly 450 horsepower in a package weighing only about 340 kilograms with its rider. However, power delivery and reliability become crucial factors during repeated full-throttle runs.
