Driving The Ferrari 512BB Koenig Special

Ferrari transitioned from the front-engine V-12 Daytona to the mid-engine flat-12 Berlinetta Boxer in 1973 with the Pininfarina-designed 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer or BB. The mid-engine boxer evolved into the 512 BB from 1976-81 with just under 930 examples built in Maranello, Italy.

As with many exotic cars, enthusiasts and styling houses sought to enhance their uniqueness. One such company, Koenig Specials in Munich, modified the 512BB which is recognizable by its distinctive features such as a deep front spoiler, integrated wing mirrors, dramatic side seals, wide flared arches concealing larger BBS wheels, air scoops, and a striking rear wing.

Let’s see what Tiff Needell has to say about this Koenig-modified 512BB with 450 horsepower as he recently got the opportunity to take it for a drive.
