458 Italia Vs SLS AMG

Discussion in 'Car Comparisons' started by mafalda, Apr 23, 2010.

  1. The video I saw showed at least 3 runs. Why would the GT2 driver start off in the wrong gear all 3 times? What we're perhaps seeing there is the shorter gearing of the Turbo and its effect on torque multiplication. Which I'd wager helps the 458 to partially overcome its power deficit to the Enzo too.

  2. The SLS is ugly.

    The 458 is beautiful.

    458 FTW.

  3. I like both of them a lot.
SLS for a cruising around town

F458 for the track and mountain roads.

  4. I can't wait until the upgrades for both cars come out.

But as of now I'd take the SLS.... I think

  5. don´t think that the Italia will beat the SLS to that specs:

Mercedes SLS AMG sport auto Supertest:

    571 bhp @ 6,800 rom
    650 Nm @ 4,750 rpm
    7-speed DSG
    1647 kg

    0-100 km/h: 4.0 s
    0-160 km/h: 7.8 s
    0-200 km/h: 11.5 s
    Vmax = 317 km/h
    0-200-0 km/h: 16.3 s

    max. lat acceleration: 1.35 g
    18 m slalom: 69.6 km/h
    36 m slalom: 136 km/h
    110 m evasion test: 150 km/h
    wet handling track: 1:31.5 min.

    total score: 74 pts.
    Nurburgring: 7.40 min.
    Hockenheim: 1:10.8 min.

  6. same acc than Quattroruote
    Impressive laptime

458 does the same laptime of teh Scuderia @ Vairano, despite it's an handling track (top speed less than 200 Kph) and the 458 is 150 Kg heavier, and it has "just" the Pilot Sport3, when the scuderia had Pzero Corsa
@ N'ring, expecially with Sport Cup, 458'd a great laptime

  7. I dislike nearly all Grand Tourers. 458 plz.

  8. The ring time for the SLS is great considering it has well under 600hp

    DAMN, that is extremely impressive.

  11. I may have missed it, but is there a ring time for the 458 yet?

  12. not yet! Im guessing 7:35ish going by the 430S' 7:39.

  13. The 458 was 2 seconds faster than the SLS at Vairano.

  14. yes that was said in the first post.

    No-brainer of the decade.

Ferrari: Revolutionary. Better looking, faster, more sporty, more tech advanced than the 200 kg heavier SLS

SLS: Great car but old win on.....old bottles. The Engine that you have had in an E-class for the past 3-4 years with a little power tweak and a design that came out in 1954 (It wonderfull design that is)

  17. I want both, so far I've only seen the SLS in person though.
