F50 a "Girl's Car" are you DUMB!~? I have a video of a F50 being driven on a street and on a track and the Guy driving it said He
wouldn't want to drive this thing every day or mess with it's limits
espacially on a public road 'cause it's too scary to drive. How is that a "Girl's car"?
And no the F40 is not faster!

Watch the movie Mischief 3000, documenting the gumball 3000 rally from Ny to La. An F50 gets pulled over by the cops for doing 187 MILES/h on the freeway (60 zone). The driver was arrested.

  4. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

I am pretty sure the F40 is faster, but that the f50 has better handling.

  5. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

  8. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

the f50 is better in the long run but ferraris in general r hard to keep in good condition so were it runs like u first bought it, my friends dad has a f40 and a f50 hes looking into an enzo as well but his f50 is much faster because the engine produces more horses then the f40s and they both weigh in the same ball park which makes them close but the f50 overall beats the shi*t outta the f40

  9. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

I think that the F50 is better i respect everyone else and what they think ........ But remember only 349 F50's were made compared with 1,311 or so F40's so the F50 is always going to be a harder car to find . Just my opinion and thankyou someone for creating a good topic for once... Also there are a lot of bullshiters on this site
and it really annoys me who say that they own a Mclaren F1 or a Clk GTR god damm they're annoying

I'm just going to delete all of AntiDomestic's posts. They're painful to read and detrimental to the site.

I actually like the F50 because of its nice shape and the performane stats. Both are really wicked cars but in my mind the F50 pulls ahead.

Personally my pick would be the F50. It looks better and likely has much better handling over the F40. Besides, the interior on the F50 is awesome looking, with those wide racing seats and the stainless steel shift adding a metallic accent to a black and red interior made of carbonfibre, plastic, and leather. The F50 is also (i believe) a convertable, and i like my Ferrari convertables.

  14. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

First of all, some people (morons) were saying how the F40 is faster than the F50, when in fact it's the other way around. The F50 is 8 years newer, has more BHP, and is a bit faster.
I think the F40 is meaner looking, but overall the F50 looks better. The F50 has better handling and is more stable than the F40 at high speeds. If I had a choice, I'd take the F50.

  15. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

you saw the Top Gear comparison betwen the F50 and the F1 car, huh? The acceleration is a typo. I was wondering about 4.8 to 100 mph. And as for the F1 car, .4 sec to accelerate 40 mph with all that downforce is impossible.

  16. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

    f40

  17. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

The F50 is my choice, it's quicker and it can handle the speed that it's travellling at a lot more. it's definately going to handle better and i think it looks better.

  18. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

I really love both cars, in fact I love ferraris, but I like the F40 over the f50, both are magnificent cars, and I dunno what made me pick the F40, but there's just something about it that I really like

  19. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

I agree with you on that the F40 looks better, but disagree with you about the F50vsF40 in a straight line, the v12 was aspirated, but the v8 was twin-turbocharged, it's not that simple. You can't say that a car is faster only because it has more cylinders.

And about th F50, Ferrari made it in 2 versions: Barchetta and Berlinetta, open and closed, so you are wrong.

  20. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

In my opinion the F40 looks much better than the F50. I personally HATE the way the front of the F50 looks, and even more so the Enzo, all going in the wrong direction. but there is no point in arguing which one looks better becuause beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as for the rest, which actually does matter, unfortunately the F40 does come up a little bit short of the F50 but not by much, I won't believe that an F50 can out handle an F40 unless you give me some proof, I'm not saying it can't, just I haven't looked into it so I can't make a statement on it, I think the F40 was made for the track though, (in good and bad ways) like no power steering, and the interior is probably equivelent to a base model Hyundai with a lot of gauges, and carbon fibre details here and there, other than that, it's a great car, but if I was to get a car for street use, that I could actually be comfortable in, while driving, I would have to go with the F50, even though i like the F40 better, (and one thing i like more about the F50 is the V12, if you get a Ferrari, it's gotta be a mid engine V12, it's just an obsession of mine.

  21. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

It's incredible how stupid some people can be. You're THE MORON if you haven't noticed yet. You call other people "morons" because they where saying that the f40 is faster than the F50 in a straight line, wich is 100% percent right:

    1/4 mile acceleration
    F40 - 11.8 seconds
    F50 - 12.1 seconds

After that you say that the F50 is 8 years newer, so? who cares, that doesn't mean it's faster... and that it has more BHP, so? (again), if you haven't noticed the F50 is 130kg heavier than the F40 (+ BHP, bu + KGs). Plus there are other factors that determine that the F40 is faster on 1/4 mile than the F50:

    what about the torque:

    F40 - 576.2 nm / 425.0 ft lbs @ 4500 rpm
    F50 - 471.82 nm / 348.0 ft lbs @ Not Available rpm

About what people like or not on the way the f40 or the f50 look it's just a matter of personal taste.

I hope you've learned something. Bye moron.

  22. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

F50 - it would be far more civilised and easier to extract the performance from. i don't rate myself as an F1 fast driver so slight differences at such ludicrous speeds make little difference. i like the F50 styling, and prefer na engines to turbos. that being said the F50 will never be remembered like the F40, it is a great car but did not move the whole game forward like the F40 did.

  23. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

Some kids like myself at 15 know more about cars then the adults, so not all kids are immature dumbasses. The F40 is a Ferrari legend it wieghs less but has 35 less horsepower. A straight line race between the F40 and F50 would be very very close however I think above 135 mph the F50 with its 6 speed gear box and higher technoglical capabilites would start to accelerate ahead quicker. Around a track the F50 would win, Ferrari may not make a car faster then its predacessar but diffentely faster then it on a race track. The F50 is diffently one of my favorite cars but so is the F40. The F50 may not look as raw but is alot more pretty to look at. Its front end looks incrediably meanicing and the car seams like its going 200 mph when standing still. The F50 is probally the better buy even though Ferrari did make over 1300 F40s and which are easiyer to locate, the F50 is diffently worth it.

  24. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

Tough choice. F40 is a more focused race car. F50 is more of a boulevard cruiser. Everyone seem to think the F50 has superior handling, that's only true when it comes to fast corners, because of it's longer wheelbase. The F40 has a shorter wheelbase witch gives it a more nimble handling.

The engine of the F50 is great, sounds great!! The engine of the F40 has quite a lot of turbo lag, it's not so sphiticated, but it gets the jobb done! Also you could get the F40 beefed up from the factory, in this version the twin turbo V8 produced 650 bhp if I remember correctly.

Also the F40 is hard to find in good shape. It's a car that encourages to hard driving so most of them has been driven hard. The F50 is usually in better shape. Im not saying the F50 is slow, its very fast, simply not as fun to drive.

So wath would bee my choice? F40 whit the 650 bhp package!

  25. Re: curious about both F40 and F50 *no kids, serious car ppl onl

I'm not sure about the F40 being more nimble even with the shorter wheel base. The F50 has a better skidpad result and when Jeremy Clarkson reviewed it he claimed that he knew of no car that turned in as quick as the F50. I assume that quick turn in would represent be the nimbleness of the car.
