Goodwood Breakfast Club - Dates for 2007

For 2007, the monthly Breakfast Club meetings will be enhanced with new set of themes, as detailed below, plus other initiatives designed to appeal to the real motoring enthusiast. In addition to some great cars, motor cycles will also be encouraged to attend, with a dedicated motor bike day being held in July for the first time. Further enhancements will include marque specialists on hand, selling quality parts and accessories that reflect each monthly theme, as well as the opportunity to take a flight in the historic Goodwood Harvard aircraft.

The Breakfast Club offers the chance for enthusiasts to enjoy a fun Sunday morning drive on the exceptional roads that lead to Goodwood, admire some interesting vehicles, and savour a delicious and hearty home-reared Goodwood organic breakfast, served at the Vitra Café, based at the Motor Circuit’s iconic Old Clock Tower

The first of the 2007 Goodwood Breakfast Club meetings will be held on Sunday 4th March. A selection of vehicles, appropriate to each monthly theme, will be parked outside the Vitra Café, with a wider variety of other ‘interesting’ vehicles displayed in the paddocks. Regular vehicles will be directed to the public car parking area. As with last year, admission to the Breakfast Club will be free, and all visitors are welcome.

Cars start to arrive early and the event runs to midday. It’s thoroughly recommended and you can see the dates for the rest of the year below, as well as on the dedicated website:

One prime example of each of these cars will be put on display outside of the Vitra Café.

A full list of all 50 eligible cars is detailed in the revised Goodwood Breakfast Club website. Suitable cars include an Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 and 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. Owners of suitable cars can register their vehicle with Goodwood using a dedicated e-mail; [email protected]

  23. The fascination of historic Ferraris at Le Mans

Maranello, 4 July 2007 - The European series of the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge (the other series is in North America) will be back in action this weekend for the third of its five rounds. The series dedicated to historic Prancing Horse cars, with Maseratis also eligible, will in fact be the main attraction of the "LM Story 2007" event, which takes place at the French Le Mans circuit.

In total, around 300 historic cars will be taking part this weekend recalling the fascination of another era, in races and exhibitions. The event gets underway on Friday 6 July, when free practice is on the agenda, before it steps up a gear on Saturday, with qualifying sessions in the morning and the first races in the afternoon.

The Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge as usual has a strong element of period dress which adds to the special atmosphere in the paddock, while on track, the A and B Grids (single-seaters and cars with drum brakes respectively) will this time race together, while Grid C (disc brake cars) will have separate races.

The Historic Challenge season comes to a close as part of the traditional Ferrari World Finals, that take place this year at the Mugello International Circuit, from 24 to 28 October.

    Jan B. Luehn Trackday
    Spa-Francorchamps, 8th August 2007

Top-class car dealer Jan B. Luehn has exclusively rented the fabulous Spa-Francorchamps race circuit for what he calls “a high-class trackday” on Wednesday 8th August.

The owners of both open- and closed-wheel cars, whether classic, race or sports cars, will have the chance to drive on this world-famous circuit, one of the most challenging in the world. Participants are promised a “completely free driving experience without any noise limitations from the morning until the evening” – a rare thing in our over-protected world.

The trackday, organised by Jan B. Luehn in cooperation with the Belgian race promotor Patrick Gassmann, will accept only a limited number of cars to ensure a good atmosphere and plenty of space.

The organisers are hoping to see a huge range of cars – from pre-War Bentleys to Le Mans Porsches and even Formula 1 cars – and owners are encouraged to apply before 25th July. Hospitality throughout the event is included in the price. For details, see

Incidentally, anyone who buys or consigns a car through Jan B. Luehn before 8th August will be offered a free place on the trackday.
