2003 TechArt GT Street XL

Elegant sportsmanship in perfect design: TechArt Automobildesign introduces the subtle but nevertheless visually exciting TechArt GT street XL wide body version for the current Porsche 911 Turbo.

The TechArt GT street XL bodywork flaring by five centimeters on the rear axle is forming an integrated whole since the fender extensions, which are welded smoothly with the standard body, are made from the same galvanized sheet metal like the standard bodywork.

A broader body is perfectly completed with aerodynamics components of the 341 km/h fast TechArt GT street S. Due to its precise design the TechArt GTS front apron doesnt only reduce the lift on the front axle but also optimizes the air supply of the coolers in the nose. To be able to make aerodynamic fine tuning the front spoiler is equipped with an adjustable Carbon splitter. The TechArt side skirts take care of a slipstream transition between the wheel houses. The extended side panels on the rear axle have special air intakes which direct the air stream perfectly to the intercoolers in the back of the car.

The TechArt GTS rear wing can’t only be adjusted in its angle of approach for the benefit of higher downforce but also has an extendible Gurney flap made from Carbon. The rear apron with integrated diffuser doesn’t only surround the dual tailpipes of the TechArt stainless steel high performance exhaust system but is also decisive in the TechArt bodystyling concept for the Turbo.

With it the top-of-the-line model of the 911 range is perfectly ready for the engine tuning which is offered for the 911 Turbo by TechArt in four different stages. The range reaches from the moderate tune-up from standard 420 hp (309 kW) to 470 hp (346 kW) to the completely modified 646 hp (475 kW) high performance engine which normally powers the TechArt GT street S super sports car. Among other things the engine conversion contains larger turbochargers and intercoolers, a sport airbox and special induction pipes made from aluminium. In addition they install a special sport exhaust system with integrated metal-bed catalysts. An exact recalibrating of the ECU perfectly coordinates the new components. The TechArt engine powers 646 hp (475 kW) at 5,900 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 641 ft lbs (870 Nm) at 4,700 rpm. The power transmission to the all-wheel drive system is made via a special high performance clutch and a modified six-speed manual gearbox with TechArt gearshift travel shortage. With it the sports car only takes 3.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. After 12.0 seconds the car is 200 km/h fast. Maximum speed is 341 km/h. The TechArt GT street XL wide body version also provides precision work on the chassis: The TechArt Vario sport suspension, which was developed in cooperation with Bilstein, doesn’t only allow to individually lower the car by up to 30 millimeters front and rear. The innovative sport suspension also has sport shock absorbers which can be adjusted in rebound and compression. As a result the set-up can be individually adapted to any driver and any operational area whether race track or road use.

The wider fenders get perfectly filled with TechArt Formula 19-inch wheels. The 11 inch wide rims rear are shod with 315/25 ZR 19 ContiSportContact 2 high performance tires. 8.5Jx19 wheels with 235/35 ZR 19 tires transmit the steering forces and propulsion power on the front axle.

TechArt Automobildesign also offers exclusive individuality in the cockpit. Full leather trims in any possible color are possible just like the integration of sporty interor components such as ergonomically designed airbag-sport-steering-wheels, Carbon panels, pedals and footrest made from aluminium or high-grade floor mats with TechArt logo and leather piping.

In addition there are available stainless steel kick plates with TechArt logo and the TechArt interior sets Sport Line in aluminium look and Carbon Line. TechArt Automobildesign also provides special consoles for an optimal and safe placing of the car phone and VDO Dayton navigation systems.
