Pagani’s Huayra “70 Derecho”

The Unstoppable Force of a Natural Phenomenon

Named after a rare and powerful atmospheric phenomenon, the Huayra 70 Derecho draws inspiration from organized storm systems capable of producing intense straight-line winds with remarkable speed and force. The name reflects the hypercar’s character: a machine engineered to deliver relentless power, precision, and unwavering stability.

Created by Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division as a one-off bespoke commission, the Huayra 70 Derecho features a distinctive exterior finished in Pearl Orange and Blue. The specially developed livery showcases Pagani’s signature carbon-fiber weave, allowing the intricate craftsmanship beneath the paint to remain visible.

Deep, transparent Inky Blue accents define the lower bodywork and interior monocoque, visually reducing the car’s mass while emphasizing its forward-focused stance. In contrast, the Pearl Orange bodywork reveals warm golden highlights in direct sunlight, further accentuating the complex surfaces and exposed carbon-fiber construction.

Custom solid-milled aluminum components are seamlessly integrated into the bodywork and finished in Glossy Titanium anodizing, adding subtle visual highlights without disrupting the Huayra’s clean design. The same finish extends to the newly designed Huayra 70 Titanium wheels, creating a consistent appearance throughout the exterior.

Inside the cabin, Pagani combines Ceramic White leather with Tricolore Blue leather, joined by bespoke contrast stitching that reflects the company’s handcrafted approach. Exterior and interior themes are tied together through carefully selected accents, including a Pearl Orange 12 o’clock steering-wheel marker and matching gear knob, reinforcing the car’s cohesive design language.

The Vision of Horacio Pagani and the Design Team

Horacio Pagani, Founder & Chief Designer, comments:

“When work is guided by curiosity, passion, and a sense of beauty, the desire to constantly improve arises naturally. Our daily commitment is to dedicate the utmost attention to every single detail, striving to approach that essential harmony between form and function, intellect and craftsmanship, just as Leonardo da Vinci taught us…”

The philosophy behind the Huayra 70 Derecho extends beyond its styling and into every aspect of its development, where craftsmanship and engineering are treated as complementary disciplines.

This approach is echoed by Lorenzo Kerkoc, Head of Grandi Complicazioni

“The configuration of this car stems from the encounter between aesthetic research and material innovation. Every design choice, from the materials to the finishes, has been studied to express an authentic synthesis of sportiness and elegance, where dynamism and refinement blend into a coherent and distinctive language.”
