Ford Updates the Mustang and Shelby GT500 for 2021 Model Year

No Major Changes, but Still Notable

The Ford Mustang, Mustang GT, and Shelby GT500 all are some good sports cars, but Ford has to do its best to keep the cars competitive. The models were updated for 2021 with some new colors and a new Carbon Fiber Handling Package for the Shelby GT500.

The color updates include the addition of Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Grey, and Grabber Yellow. It’s also worth noting that the Mach 1 variant, which is coming out in 2021 will come in Fighter Jet Gray, Iconic Silver, Shadow Black, Oxford White, Velocity Blue, Twister Orange, Race Red, and Grabber Yellow.

All Mustangs get Ford Co-Pilot360 as standard for 2021. This makes the majority of the driver assistance features that many drivers have come to love.

The big news for the Mustang is that the Shelby GT500 will get the Carbon Fiber Handling Package. If you’re familiar with the car, you’ll know that you can get a Carbon Fiber Track Pack and a separate Handling Pack. This new package for 2021 more or less combines the two packages available in 2020 into one single package.

This makes sense. I’d imagine folks who are buying one of those packages for the 2020 model year car would just rather have both anyway, so Ford just combined them. Sounds like a smart move to me.
