Porsche win Le Mans 1-2

After racing all day, night and day, Porsche have defeated Audi at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year was a much faster event and the LMP1 hybrid cars managed to drop about three seconds a lap and Porsche broke the overall track record in qualifying with a 3:16.887 lap.

Drivers Nico H?lkenberg, Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy won overall in their #19 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid. This was definitely was a surprise result from the non-season team in the Porsche roster with two rookies. Porsche favored the #17 car which was posed to win the 17th victory with drivers Timo Bernhard, Mark Webber and Brendon Hartley who eventually finished second.

Nissan brought out a three car team with their radical 2015 Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, but the rushed prep and lack of race testing meant that none of the cars would finish the race. They were also nearly 20 seconds of the leading pace.

Toyota also had a long 24 hour race. With just a two-car team, they were several seconds per lap behind the Audis and Porsches which meant the best they could do was 7th or 8th place overall.

For now we have prepared a gallery with the front-running LMP1 cars, and will add the LMP2, LM GTE PRO and LM GTE AM classes soon.
