July 20th, 2005 - The Gallardo SE is Lamborghini's new special edition

of their successful V10 supercar. Limited to 250 units, it is

characterized by two-tone paint, an enhanced interior and technical

improvements.

Like the standard model, the Gallardo SE is equipped with permanent

4WD, a 6 speed gearbox, an aluminum space frame, ESP and ASR, ABS,

ABD, air conditioning, as well as two front and two side airbags.

The new SE is offered in six body colors which are contrasted by the

black painted engine bonnet, front and rear spoiler as well as the two

side mirrors. The newly designed "Callisto" rims give an extra touch

to the overall appearance which is complemented by the painted brake

calipers (available in grey or yellow).

The entire interior is handcrafted in leather and, exclusive to the

SE, continues the two-tone concept by having all piping and stitching

matching the exterior body color. Other details include a sports

steering wheel, additional shields embossed in the headrests and a

rear view camera, which in combination with the built-in multimedia

screen, facilitates better parking.

The gearbox is now equipped with shorter gear ratios in the first five

gears. The differnce in performance can be shown in the acceleration

times: the SE goes from 0-62 mph in 4.0 seconds which is an

improvement of 0.2 seconds. A new top speed of 196 mph is also

possible. Additional performance comes from a sports suspension in

combination with the P Zero Corsa tires which are all standard

features on the Special Edition.

The Gallardo SE will be available in Europe from September onwards.

Customers can optionally choose the robotized gearbox e.gear, as well

as a navigation system (depending on the country), heated side

mirrors, fully electrical and heated seats. A winter package (heated

seats, side mirrors, heated wash jets, rubber floor mats, 12 Volt

outlet), and a lifting system are also available.
