Auctions America in Fort Lauderdale

This weekend, March 27-29, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Auctions America will present a diverse group of some 500 vehicles for sale in all price ranges. Among the most interesting cars in this selection is the one-of-a-kind 1964-1/2 Ford Mustang III Factory Prototype affectionately known as โ€œShorty.โ€ Itโ€™s being offered following 47 years in single ownership, and is arguably the most historically important Mustang ever presented for sale. Bids in the half-million-dollar range are expected.

Also crossing the block will be several other cars with bid expectations in that same neighborhood. One is an ultra-lightweight 1992 Ford GT 40 Mk V Spyder by Safir (shown), while another is a 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe, one of 45 cars on offer from the Cayman Motor Museum Collection. Two more are low-mileage Ford GTs, one an original, one-of-a-kind 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition with only 2.7 miles on its clock, and the other a rare 2005 Ford GT, chassis #002, perhaps the lowest numbered example of a Ford GT that will ever be offered to the public.
