FOR SALE: 2014 McLaren P1

The first example offered for sale to the public

This 2014 McLaren P1, chassis number 2, is an exceptional example of the hybrid hypercar that redefined performance in the last decade. Originally finished in painted carbon fiber and delivered through McLaren Greenwich in Connecticut, the car was later returned to the factory in 2015 for a conversion to exposed carbon fiber. Only four or five P1s were factory-built with this finish after production ended, and this is the sole example that was converted from painted to exposed carbon fibre by McLaren itself.

Beneath its striking green exposed carbon fiber exterior lies a complex and highly advanced machine. The P1 combines a 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 727 hp with a 177 hp electric motor, integrated into a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Total output is 903 HP and over 700 lb-ft of torque. Inspired by Formula 1, it uses IPAS for instant power delivery and DRS for enhanced straight-line speed. Performance is staggering: 0–60 MPH in 2.7 seconds and 0–185 MPH in 16.5 seconds.

The P1’s MonoCage carbon monocoque weighs just 180 pounds and is reinforced with Kevlar. Advanced aerodynamics, including a RaceActive Chassis Control system and a massive adjustable rear wing, produce over 1,300 pounds of downforce at 160 MPH. The carbon-ceramic brakes, developed in collaboration with Akebono, enable the car to halt from 120 MPH in just 380 feet.

A green metallic lacquer complements the 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires, which tie them into the overall design. This colour theme continues inside with green carbon-fiber accents and contrast stitching on the black leather upholstery. True to McLaren’s driver-focused philosophy, the P1 features racing-style seats and purpose-built controls, while still offering comfort amenities like climate control, navigation, carpeting, and a premium Meridian audio system.

This 2014 McLaren P1 is currently up for grabs on Bring a Trailer, alongside a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder and a 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari, as part of Silver Arrow Cars’ Hypercar Holy Trinity Collection.
