  3. Many of u keep saying that Honda cars are slow an ddon't have power. I think u guys are wrong. Becuz it's just that Honda don't want to build such powerful cars. i mean, if they have to, they can just put 2 S2000's engines together and makes 500hp and 312lbs/foot of torque. That will be a 4.0L V8 naturally aspiriated. But Honda won't make such powerful car, cuz it's a waste of money, why? no one would buy it!
     
  4. The sad thing about combining the 2 S2000 engines is that with 500 HP it would only hit 13's because of its undertorqued tradition.

  7. any car that is fast is good. i am not a fan of dumping tons of money into a 4 cyl. vehicle but some of them are crazy. obviously if you are looking for cheap speed go with american vehicles. hondas can be made fast for a price and it may well be worth it. all i can say is that my 2001 4 door honda civic lx was able to play with a 1995 firebird trans am and a 2000 mustang gt. granted that we were already moving, but with their huge horsepower and torque advantages they should be embarassed that an unmodified 1.7 4 cyl. with a claimed 115 hp was able to stay with them. you can all talk about your drag racing but road racing tops that any day.

If you have all those cars you shouldn't be bragging about them instead you should be giving your dad head for buying them for you. Next Civics are not meant to beat porshes and Ferrari you can't compare them you fool. If you take every detail in account including PRICE Civics may be the best cars ever made. Then you work for a performance shop and you brag about the prices...again you got a discount because your freind owns it and you work there.

    now if u get into modded stuff i know alot about imports and domestics becuz i work on them at the shop me and a couple of friends own (i dont own it but my friend of 6 months does and he is the one that gave me the job)

    imports s2000 fast but no room for mods for increase stress on the engine that is already highly tuned and made after a f1 engine in mind, any how our v-8's are n/a and out perform ur I4's turbo...
    as for handling ur stock civics are horrible a gt has a stiffer suspension the same weight ratio as urs and has more torque more horsepower wider tires and in my opinion handles better i have driven them day in and out have driven honda integra blah blah blah, used to work for ford for about 4 months before i went into the performance buisness, any how i drove those in our used car lots

    the zx2 is faster and has better handling (even road and track thinks so) its domestic its nice its a 4 banger its cheap and the mods for it are even cheaper than jap mods to their cars why becuz its american and we dont like to spen 155 dollars for a pully when esslinger sells them to us for 95 dollars, ur cars aftermarket area is over priced and over talked about and over done,

    as for v-8' i knowo many that can take ur cars on the track and i even know i4's that will take the wrx and impreza on the track and those are even 2wd.

    All in all domestics are better and have the same "tech" as ur cars. u get a intake and call it high tech no high tech is getting a 60's push rod to get 26mpg thats also 5.7L and pumping out 410hp, now thats tech and hard work. Nowadays every one has dohc and ohc engines that get 29 30 31 mpg and are "high tech" dude u look under a import 4 and a domestic 4 and well they look the same except the engine is turned around. but other than that they are the same, work on the same idea and have the same gismos as ur "high tech" engines...dude they are not high tech they have been around for a decade now.

    The reason why american cars are so cheap is becuz they are stupid. Only Ford is smart, and Ford is the only American car mnufacturer making profit. Daimler Chrsyler and GM are losing money big time. Last time I heard the news, Chrysler lost $500,000,000 US dollar, and GM laid-off a few hundreds or thousands workers. While Toyota was building its new plant and employed 200 workers. I don't understand why they are losing money while Jap manufacturers earn money. May be they are selling their cars too cheap. Soon enough, if both GM and Chrysler keep losing money, they will be closed, or eaten up by other manufacturers.<!-- Signature -->

  18. Alright, all of you, stop making fun of one another and rationalize. You have to consider that every car has its better and worse qualitiets. For example, all of you making fun of the Domestic Market cars, you are saying that they eat gas, break down, fall apart, and are worthless. From the time of the first American car, the idea was go big and go strong. There was never a 4 or 6 cylinder in the 60's out of the great muscle cars, and that is why they are known to be called that. I agree, the American cars do eat more gas and are supposubly supposed to break down more often, but results show that the quality ratio of japanese and American is getting closer to 1:1. Do you really think the AMericans are sooo stupid? For God sakes, Ford, the "so called shity car company" makes Jaguar, Volvo, etc. The great cars taht you say, "tahts a good quality car." besides, there are American cars, taht if properly managed run over 200,000 miles!
    NOw, for those dissing Asian Market cars, you are quiet wrong. I own an AMerican car, and i can tell you taht the crazy asians are doing a damn good job at creating cars. Their idea is not how big it is, but how much can you get from a small package. These cars produce the most BHP per cylinder without forced induction (ex. Turbo). They are easy to drive with the hydraulic assist clutch, and the anyone racing bread front weel drive setup. Over all, they are inexpensive,rev high, and are quiet easy to modify. No wonder the import scene is becoming so big.
    Finally, there is the pinnacle (i think so at least) of the automobile. German or Italian cars. These machines are your balance of AMerican and Japanese plus more. These are the rear wheel drive cars, that dont loose control as much, high revving and high BHP per liter cars, that have mid range gas mileage, and are the safest cars in the world! (BMW lineup). They are awsome at control, and have the most features found to date. The new BMW X5 SAV has a 4.6 liter engine that puts out 340 BHP (6700RPM) and 350IB of torque (3700RPM). German and ITalian cars are the greatest if you ask me. I like to be biast, but i have reasently purchased a 2001 BMW 540i in a 6 speed set up and i love it. And if your a turbo fan, there are such crazy cars like buggati, taht have 1000BHP. (There are carst aht have more, Domestic or foregin).

    Sorry for all of that, but i hope poeple will rationalize what they are saying to eachother, and consider all the facts and stop being biast to one thing.

    V-spec (not V-spec II), NSX Type S-Zero (Honda), and EVO6 raped the Ferrari F355 on the Japanese high speed track. (all stock cars)
    I don't think those American cars can do it since I bet they will all fly out when they are curving those corners.

    Ford does not make Jaguar or Volvo, it bought them. Last week, I heard the news of Ford lost $600,000,000. And European cars are great, but they have many "little" problems, too. But those are minors when compare to American ones. And You don't get great stuff for a cheap price. All of European cars are very expensive, except Volkswagen, but it is not as good as other Euro cars. <!-- Signature -->
     
  23. Hondas are good cars, they are by no means in the same category as a American car in a 1/4 mile. Hondas are great realible economy cars (with the exception of the NSX and maybe the S2000, which is a very neat little car). I will take a Mustang GT 99+ bone stock (a Camaro is a better choice, but for the point I a making it doesn't really matter), and beat ANY supped up honda economy car in an Iron Man run. Iron Man meaning the best 30 of 30 quarter miles in a row. Lets see who has the faster more reliable car. This is a true test of a car, and I would say 90% of the Honda rice burners can't handle this, either they loose, or break down. Now some European cars on the other hand.....but thats a whole different story.

    jap cars are made very well and the V-tech ones have a lot of top end. But trying to make and 1.8L-2.2L engin fast(talking about 0-60 and 0-100)without the turbos, nos, and superchargers is just plain STUPID!!!!Peace out!!
