Why should I stop defending a car I like, its like if I went in the Supra forum and said screw Domestic Cars, dont even bother telling me that you wouldnt say anything...

  2. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

if you went into a supra forum and said "screw Domestic Cars" i wouldn't care, considering i don't go into forums about cars i don't care for (meaning, i don't go to supra forums, so i wouldn't know what you say).......come on, i don't go into supra or skyline forums and say "screw Import cars".

it's like, if you hate a certain car, or don't like it, or don't care for it, WOULDN'T YOU STAY AWAY FROM IT???

  3. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

Holy crap, that Godzilla car is a totally stripped and rebuilt drag car. Fiberglass panels/doors, polycarbonate windows, sequential 6-speed, different block, etc.

The 800TT is bone stock below the heads, sports a full interior, and actually weighs more than a stock Viper.

    SkylineFreak:
Which car do you think would be faster through a hairpin turn, a stock Z06 or a stock Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII?

Which car do you think would be faster around a racetrack, among these 3:
    505 RWHP Viper
    509 RWHP Skyline R33
    619 RWHP Supra

  5. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

i knew 'godzilla' was a DRAG CAR (don't know why EVOTMEcrazy and SkylineFreak thought differently)

  6. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

Zo6 Vs Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi would have better stability on the curve but when they get straight the z06 would burn it
And on a race track, I think the Supra would have it

  7. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

Ok, lets say Godzilla is a drag car, lets say if the price wouldn't matter, try comparing a STOCK domestic to the Nissan R390

  8. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

Ok, SkylineFreak, go to the link you gave earlier to godzilla, there you'll find this:

"Proving that the year of development on our Nissan Skyline GT-R "Gozilla" Drag-Car is heading in the right direction, we ran a hot 9.31-second ET this Sunday the 20th of October"

    (notice, it says DRAG-CAR)

  9. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

I never said it wasnt a drag car, I clearly said before that, it isnt impossible to see 1200hp Skylines And Supras that are on the streets

  10. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

    quote from Skyline Freak:

"Theres Skylines And Supras running 1200hp that are street legal and besides that, I rather have a car that can turn"

ok, if 'godzilla' is a drag car, then it probably can't turn that well.

Z06 vs. Evo VII in a hairpin, below. A stock Viper GTS is about even with a Z06, if not slightly faster. The 800TT would be quite a bit faster through the hairpin than a stock Viper.

    Regarding the Supra...

The Ultimate Street Car Challenge, Part II
    1) Viper ACR
    2) Motorex R33 Skyline GTR
    3) Toyota Supra

    From Mani, the Supra owner:
"A little recap of the whole event now I had a chance to get some rest after about a week of health issues and trying to get the car ready for the event.
First off, as I’ve mentioned previously, I want to thank the So Cali guys for the humongous help they provided me. Without them, I’d be screwed and wouldn’t have placed any where near 3rd place. Jack, Amir, Ian, Ryan, Eddy, Alex and crew all were there in force and help out a lot…

Event started on Saturday night with a dinner and going through the schedule for Sunday and Monday. We showed up at HKS in Gardena on Sunday morning for the Dyno, Grandma, Show, Engineering, emissions and drivability test.

Grandma test, engineering and drivability went well. No issues there. Then came the time for the Dyno. Did one pull with 25psi with no NOS got a 600 RWHP before turning on the NOS for the real power run. The minute I hit the NOS, one of the NOS lines going to the manifold blew off loosing all the NOS and some of the boost going into the motor. Power went to 619RWHP before the car started to back fire and make a scene at the dyno. Very disappointed in this, as the car was capable of being in the 800s easily.
As expected, emissions sucked ass, as I didn’t have enough time to get that part of the test addressed. I think I was next to last on that one.

All is good at the end of the day and I was in close second place with engineering scores still to be tallied. I was feeling pretty good going into the second day.

First test of the day on Monday was the skid pad. I managed 1.06 last year with inferior tires and much less ground effects. I had no reason to worry about this test after watching the Skubi and the Skyline managing to put down .98 and 1.04 respectively. However, when the Supra got on the skid pad the numbers said a completely different story. First try, the car barely managed to edge the Skuby by getting and average of .99G. Huge surprise until the car pulled in and looked at the tires. Front alignment was bad. The car is riding on the outer edge of the tires. It needed more camber but nothing we can do to fix it in the given amount of time. Did some adjustments to the wing and front suspension settings and finally edge into 1.007G.

I was a little disappointed but the day was young. We still had several tests to be performed and I’m still well in the hunt and I was pretty confident since the results after the skid pad put me in the lead overall going into the road race part of the test.

Paul Mumford’s reputation preceded him and I was content to come in second to him. We had a 15 min practice session to get used to the track. First 4 cars on the track was the Viper, Skyline, Mitsu and the Supra. I was barely able to get 1 S lap in before the temp needle was buried passed the “H”. The car was running miserably hot. I’ve never had the car overheat on me before. I later found out that the Viper and the Skyline was having the same issues with water temps. So it ended up being one hot lap and two additional laps to cool the car down and getting on it for few more turns and back to cooling down the car.

Then came the time to run the timed hot laps. Made a mistake by gunning the engine to get some heat into the tires on the opening lap. By the time I came across the start finish line to begin the hot lap, the water temp is already in the read. Needless to say this was a wasted lap. Only managed to get into he 1.25 range. Pulled the car over and proceeded to fill the radiator overflow thank and remove every body piece we could to get some air into to the motor. Out came the lights, hood. While we were doing this, the Viper went out and laid down a 1.16 lap time. This would be a test for the second place, as no amount of cooling would help me to shave off close to 10 seconds off my time. The skyline manages to dip the car into the 1.23 range where he is in the second place now in the road racing part of the test. With the hood and the lights off, I went out on my second hot lap only waste that lap to the HKS DLI, which took a crap and the engine will not rev and sounded like it’s running on 3 cylinders. Had to pull the car into the pits and yank the DLI out and no I only had one lap to do what ever. Still with the hood and lights off the car, managed to get the car into the low 1.22 range, which put me about a second in front of the Skyline. Felt really good, as that is where I expected to be at the end of the road race event. The Skyline still had two laps left to go out an beat my time which Steve Mitchell did by few 10th of a second and pushed me back to 3rd place. Things were starting to go down hill from here on out.

Next came the drag race session of the event. With the DLI out running high boost on 105 deg temps was an issue. The car is misfiring as the boost build and it showed with the first pass which was 12.66 @ 123 mph. Traction was horrible as the launch sucked and the minute the car built boost, here comes the wheel spin. The all wheel drive cars were fairing much better than the RWD cars as the launches were far easier for them.
Decided to spray during the second run and as I went through the first and grabbed a hand full of NOS on the second, the wheels went up in smoke instantly. Backed out of it and slammed it into 3rd and as soon as I released the clutch bunch of vacuum hoses from the back of the engine blew off killing any chance of improving the time. Ended up posting something in the high 13s on this, what was supposed to be my final and the run, which I expected the car to be latest in the 11s…

My day is going down hill in a hurry. I knew going into the drag race portion that I had to stay in front of the Viper and the Skyline to have any chance of beating them in over all points. Both the Viper and the Skyline better my time in both the road race track and the drag race potion.

I’m beginning to have the worst time of the event going into the freestyle session. I was praying that the points would be equally weighted in this event for me to have event the remotest shot at the 1st place. But it was not to be. Only 25 pints were available for grabs where 100 points were available for the other tests.

During the driver’s meeting before the freestyle began, only 3 of the editors know the final score. It was so close between the Viper, Skyline and the Supra that they decided to exclude the 3 editors from scoring the final free style event to be fair and chose three judges who had no idea about the final score. However, we were told that it could all depend on how the free style would turn out to decide the winner. Out of the three of us, first was Sean with the Skyline. He had a good strategy by stripping down to his boxers and throwing all his close and shoes on the ground and proceeded to run over them while power sliding the Skyline. Funny and original idea to say the least. I know I was in tears at the end of his display. Then after few cars, I when out on my freestyle session. I knew that I had to give all I got to get into the lead and have a chance at the title. Ended up boiling the tires for 90 seconds and ran all the way past the second set of plies on the tires and about a second from blowing both rear tires. Had a pretty good smoke show going. Mumford with the Viper was next and he too boiled the 335 Hoosiers to silly beating.

From the reaction of the spectators, I kind of felt that I may have edged it to the first place but still had my doubts as to how the Viper was scored.

End of the day after the dinner and when the trophies were handed out, I managed to win the freestyle which let me to believe that I may have had this in the bag or at least the second place. But, as you know, it was close but no cigar. Walked home with the third place trophy.

I was pretty disappointed and angry for a bit but when you think about it, it was not a bad place to be given the two cars that I was behind.

It was an exhausting weekend but met some good people and had some good friendly competition. All the weaknesses of the car and modification stood out like a sore thumb. It’s time to address those issues and get her ready for next year and go tear it up.

On a side note, Paul handed me the keys to his Viper for the drive to dinner. Turbo cars are great but man that car is sick when it comes to how it delivers the power. You step on the throttle and any RPM in any gear and the power is there right now. No waiting for things to spool but just a steady rush of torque and HP planting you instantly to the back of the seat… As great as the Viper is, I don’t think there are may individuals out there that can make it look as good as Paul did during this weekend. My hats off to both the Viper and Skyline. Not a bad company to be in at the end of the day..."

Sorry, ouput for the Skyline should have been WHP, not RWHP.

  13. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

I was curiouse i heard the viper had been designed (outdside design) by Japenese or a core groupe of japs. and the more i look at it the more i can see the japish design in it. Is that true or the a quencedence (sp)?

  14. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

i really dont know why these ppl are always like: "R33 suped up is the greatest and it can turn and a viper cant." i would like to see a race of any kind between a "suped" up skyline and this (800tt). the viper would demolish it. i mean think. the viper can turn better than the skyline ever could and to add the fact with turbos and mods in it ill bet it turns worse. so please. save the rest of the world some time and oxygen and just not post. because all this is a battle between a skyline and a viper. CMON PPL!

  15. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

In case any of you haven't heard, Hennessey's suck. Their reliability is in the dumps, you can't run a lot of boost on an Aluminum engine. Why do you think Hennessey is under Federal Investigation or did you not know?

  16. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

I believe he's under investigation because he ripped off his customers (he wouldn't work on thier cars and he would sell the stock car parts) but LOL people say he should've been in jail a long time ago.

As for the cars he makes (which are few!!) they are reliable (they come w/ 3year, 36,000mile warranties)

BTW, corvette engines along w/ viper engines can run up to 16+ PSI. Besides, vette and viper engines don't need tons of boost to make tons of power. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  17. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

show me one skyline that is better than the 1000tt hennessey. i dare you!

  18. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

Here are the stats for your 1000tt Hennessey:
    0-60 mph: est 2.2 sec
    0-100 mph: est 5.3 sec
    Quarter Mile: 9.84 sec @ 156.35 mph
    Skidpad: 1.00g
    Top Speed: --- mph
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 110 ft
    Slalom Speed: 75.1 mph

Now if i recall, you said any? Godzilla still beats it to 60 and to 100 and in the 1/4 mile

  19. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

    Maybe DOMESTICS 4 LIFE should've said 'any production skyline better than the 1000tt'. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  20. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

Even the Blitz Skyline would beat it, it did 0-60 in 3 estimated on Racing Tired, Imagine it doing it on cheater slicks like the 1000TT, the AWD system will launch the Skyline like a ***** and besides that, if I can find the link bad, I remember a race car driver saying " I dont like the Viper at all, you cant push the throttle down all the way to the metal or else the wheels will spin and you'll spin out"

  21. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

And addition to that, I'd so love to see a Viper trying to oversteer

No Vipers oversteering in either of them

  24. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

refering to wat u said earlier about the godzilla beatin the 1000tt. please show me the stats all i can find for the godzilla 1/4mile is 9.994 secs and thats from a site claiming to have been the only group to have tested the godzilla and achieved that as its highest count. and if thats so then i guess the 1000tt would beat that because it runs a [email protected] 1/4 mile. and if those stats are tru about the godzilla then the 800tt wouldnt even beat it. the 800tt was tested and achieved 9.99 secs aswell in the 1/4 mile. and that was in the rain and against heavy weather. and if thats not goood enough for you try it up against sit hiss. with a 1/4 mile time of [email protected] and dont say vipers cant turn. maybe the earlier versions as of 94 and lower but that was like 8 years ago. alot has happened in that time. because of wat i seen vipers now pull more g's than skyline, have better braking than skylins, have faster slalom speed that skyline, have faster accel. than skyline and have faster top speed than skylines. and this is jus from a STOCK 2003 SRT/10 not a modded 1000tt or sir hiss.

  25. Re: This vs Jap cars like...AB-flug Supra & Veilside Supra, ect.

And how much times did the 800 and 1000TT break down before they got those stats? 10?

And if I remember correctly, when they tested the Godzilla, it was using street tired, NOT cheater slicks, imagine what it would be able to do with slicks, AWD?

You are comparing a 2003 to a 1998? Why not compare it to the new Skyline the is scheduled to come to the U.S. in early 2004?

Any Supra, Skyline or even 180Zx can pull those times, its just matter of gearing properly
