Today McLaren released the final details of the production P1 supercar before its debut at the Geneva Auto Show next month.
We now know that the model will be limited to 375 examples at a price of $1,300,000 USD (€1,000,000 or £866,000).
As revealed last week, the P1 uses a twin power technology with the MP4's engine in combination with an inline electric motor that helps to provide 903 bhp total horsepower.
With many of the great motorsports championships just now beginning, there are many new racecars being released. One of the most recent is the 2013 BMW Z4 GTE which will replace the BMW M3 in both ALMS and at Le Mans.
BMW's main competitor will be the updated 991-style Porsche 911 GT3 RSR which is a mainstay in the GTE/GT2 class. We expect to have full details on the Porsche before its debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in mid March.
WRC is already well underway. We have an impressive gallery of the 81th Rallye Monte-Carlo which featured the international debut of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC.
As we get closer to Geneva, each day has seemingly more and more releases. For instance, today both Gemballa and Fab Design each revealed their version of McLaren's MP4 for the show floor.
Bentley will use Geneva to showcase the updated version of their 4-door Flying Spur. The new generation car has a redesigned rear end which distinguishes it from the Continental GT.
We finish with the Gloria, a concept by IED that reinvisions the typical 4-door sedan shape.
Last weekend's Rétromobile was a feast of nostalgia for the classic car nut. With many top manufacturer, dealer and automobilia displays, the Paris Porte de Versailles became a hotbed of long-lost cars and new cars to market.
Of all the many displays we have to applaud Swiss dealer Lukas Hüni for bringing out an absolutely lovely lineup with three pre-war Bugattis and three Alfa Romeos that were the best of their kind.
We also have to give props to Hall & Hall, Fiskens, Citroën, Renault, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche for top displays.
Our gallery of Rétromobile is assembled from photos by Dirk de Jager and FAST-AUTO.FR. This is one of our first galleries with image sizes up to 2048px.
At the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz will release their first high-performance compact called the A 45 AMG. From a 2-litre engine the A 45 sends 360 BHP to all four wheels.
In a similar vein, Audi will have the wagon version of their S3 called the S3 Sportback which uses a similarly sized engine to produce 260 bhp to all four wheels.
Lastly we have Alfa Romeo which will show off a production version of the 4C which is much more dramatic than either of the two German alternatives.
In the past week both Bonhams and Artcurial staged auctions in conjunction with Retromobile in Paris. Top sale of them both went to the 1936 Talbot Lago T150C which fetched nearly €1,500,000.
Artcurial was Rétromobile's official auction and sold a record €14.6 million this year. Our gallery by Dirk de Jager and FAST-AUTO.FR has all the highlight lots with descriptions and prices realized.
Bonhams used the spectacular Grand Palais des Champs Elysées for their annual sale. Included was the Bugatti Type 57C Coupé Aerodynamique which sold for €690,000. Again our gallery by Dirk de Jager has all the highlights.
The Chicago Auto Show is opening it doors to the public today and showing off numerous international debuts. For everyone that can't make it, we have a gallery of images from the show floor.
Ford used the occasion to launch their Global RallyCross Fiesta which will be driven this year by Tanner Foust, Brian Deegan and Ken Block. Ford also hired fifteen52 to create this Project Focus TrackSTer
Nissan brought along their new 2014 NISMO 370Z with more horsepower and a dramatic body kit.
One of the world's best Bugattis will be offered by Bonhams in two days at their auction in Paris. This one-of Coupé Aerodynamique was built by the factory workers and delivered new to Ettore Bugatti.
Over the period of 20 years the car was retained by the factory and upgraded with components from their upcoming 101 line.
Remarkably original and offered from a limited line of careful ownership, this would be our choice for a future investment.
Today Mercedes-Benz is releasing details on their new C 63 AMG Edition 507 which produces 507 bhp.
The new package also has carbon fiber brake discs and an upgraded interior with high-gloss black piano accents.
In Coupé, Estate and Sedan from the first Edition 507 AMGs will be seen at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show.
