This is the road-going adaptation of the Lancer rally car, formally known as the GSR. It features airbags and a full interior which are not available on the Rally counterpart formally known as the RS. To add 15% more torsional rigidity, front-strut tower bars and a front-end crossmember were added to the RS model. Additionally a faster steering ratio and short tranmission ratios add to sporting nature of the RS.
