1. I heard there's 1 more in the transmission...
    Not really sure about that.....

  2. ... ok comparing a honda to a an exotic or supercar is rediculous. it doesn't have a v12 it doesn't have turbo's .. and what they did do is pretty good they got 400 horsepower out of an NA v6 engine and they did build this concept I think it was at the tokyo auto show a couple months ago not exactly sure that thats wehre it was though. please to not say honda is crap because fararri is better.. that only shows your inability to see that they are not able to be compared and makes you look very stupid in front of the ladies. I did a quick search on the internet and found an actual picture of the dualnote.. research before you slam and think about the fact that honda is not a performance manufacturer and doesn't cost over 150k.. and bleak.. your.. slow to put it nicely

  3. there's no engine or motor in the trans.

  4. Very nice car..put some wings on it and it can fly...damn fast also.It would probably burn some other cars off the road..400 hp?must i say more???

What the hell is this guy talking about. I have magazines with actual pictures in them. Get the facts first.

  6. Know the facts first

Dual Note has mid-mounted brand new 3.5 liter V6 DOHC iVTEC engine. This engine is rated at 300 HP @ 6500 rpm, 250 lb.-ft @ 4000 rpm, and sends power to the rear wheels.

Each of the front wheels have electric motors attached to them, each producing 50 HP @ 6500 rpm. These engines communicate with the main (gasoline engine) via Honda's IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) mounted alongside the 3.5/V6, and hence share the transmission. So, the total power output is 400 HP @ 6500 rpm.

This AWD hybrid sedan prototype has a top speed of 186 mph, and estimated 0-60 run of low 4 seconds, returning 42 mpg in the process. It is equipped with some other features like nightvision, but most importantly, has a unique battery recharging process. While Honda's original hybrid (Insight) used energy retrieved during braking to charge the battery pack, they went couple of steps further with Civic hybrid sedan (already on sale in Japan, arrives in America in couple of months). With the Civic, the engineers adopted a cylinder shutoff mechanism during deceleration as well, to improve the recharging efficiency.

The Dual Note technology makes it all look obsolete. It is also equipped with ATTS (Automatic Torque Transfer System found in Prelude SH) and VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist that is standard in some Acuras).

ATTS works by transfering power from the inner wheel to the outer wheel during cornering. The Dual Note ATTS is programmed to do just that on the front set of wheels if the car is driven aggressively around a corner. However, if the corner is taken without aggressive acceleration, ATTS sends the energy from the inner wheel to recharge the battery pack.

VSA is also used similarly. In this case, instead of losing the energy in the form of heat (braking one or more wheels to provide stability), the energy is sent to the battery pack.

It is an interesting concept, and may see production in one form or the other, if not as Dual Note. Honda had showcased a similar concept in 1999 (Spocket), but that had a very basic AWD Hybrid drivetrain.

One of the greatest advantages of electric motor is their ability to produce peak torque at low engine speeds (can be from 1 rpm onwards). And having two is even better, so twice as much torque. Besides torque, another advantage is allowing the drivetrain to completely shutoff when the car stops (as it happens in Insight). When the gear is engaged or gas pedal is depressed, the engine comes back to life, and the electric motor is assisted by torquey electric motor(s) for acceleration.

idiot honda wouldn't have told about this car to the public if they couldn't do it. sure its not built yet but they could when its time to release it......idiot.

yes, it sucks. too. my stang is faster. I have a v8 inline and its bored with a supercharger and nos. i can beat this honduh cause its slower i have like 900 mabye more hp. and this honduh has 400. i think its slow. i will be working on my stang and it will be 2,000hp. i will goto summit racing and get the parts to make it faster than any civic out there. US cars are much beter and they dont look slow. they are made to go fast and the air will move around the car better.

Try and race my stang I will win. cause honduh is slow.

Imports Rule ?!?! looks like someone's been snorting too many FUCKING crayons; take a stock Nissan Skyline GT-R and put it up agains a Corvette Z06, the Vette would win (based on manufacturer given 0-60 and skidpad ratings). Take all the shit totaling over a hundred grand (USD) dropped in a Skyline to give it over 1200 bhp and put it in the Z06, you'd get over 2000 bhp. Bottom of line, when comparing American Muscle cars to Import Cars stock, or with similar mods, the Muscle cars win, why? Simple answer einstein, THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT

  11. If that's your opinion, fine... still better than that short bus you ride to school in every day.

  12. no, I've been following up on this car very thoroughly, it actually has 4 motors, 1 MR Gasoline engine, 1 MR ultracapacitor (in front of the engine), 1 electric motor mounted just above the rear axle, and 2 electric motors mounted in the front - one for each wheel (this is where the FWD part comes in).

And to all you people that keep bashing this car - it is very apparent you're just trashtalking because your beginning to realize that your insistence that Honda can't make a better car than ALL american manufacturers is futile, and now your only form of compensation for your lack of genetalial mass is beginning to appear about as pathetic as the source of your insecurities.

Now, to those of you who keep insisting this car will never be made because it is just a concept on paper, well, guess what?

2 working full size models have been constructed, one as the Dualnote, the other as the DN-X (I dunno why they made one under each name) one is being tested in Europe, the other is being circulated in car shows in Japan (at least that's the last I heard of what they were being used for). And the performance is actually slightly better than the specs on this site show. So, I guess your good 'ol' rusty Cast Iron american "muscle" car technology may soon be obsolete .

Actually, I have no real problem with American Manufacturers, just the attitudes of some of their oh so patriotic fans, and their devotion to their cars that leads them to lie in order to defend the "honour" of American cars.

  13. Re:

Everyone keeps saying how American cars are so much better than Japanese cars. Jealousy, perhaps? You can't even drive American cars confortably in most other countries. Too big, and most are built only to be able to go long distances at constant speeds.

  14. Re: Re:

    My sentiments precisely.

  15. what the #$%# r u talking about??? do u even know something about cars? u only complain about it but u dont know shit, ugly??? wick???
i cant stand peace of crap peoplo that dosnt have cars and a bet that u r only 16 years old!!! shity boy!!!

  16. Re:

"shity" boy... how do you prenounce that, shy-tee?

Argueing over a car's outward appearence.. rediculous. "Beauty is only skin deep," boys, you'll never get anywhere aeguing which country makes the most beautiful cars.

  17. Re: Re:

I agree, appearance is based on opinion.

  18. ummm...sorry, but there will be no NEW NSX.

The Type-R is the last in the line of this car.....yes, there is a replacement in the pipilenes, but it won't be an NSX.

    sorry

  19. i think its really cool!

  20. Honestly, Honda should have stuck with the small compacts. This thing looks like crap! Besides, who would want a sports car for the whole family anyway? The point of having a fast car is to enjoy driving, not take you kids to school.

  21. Again, looks are based on opinion.

Well, it can be a sports sedan.

  22. You drive a cavalier

You don't even know the meaning of fast.

  23. No as a matter of fact I don't. My name is that way because I like the University of Virginia Cavaliers. If I could have any car I wanted it would be either a BMW M series or a Honda S2000 with modifications. Oh, and don't forget the 800tt Viper! So yes, I do know what fast is.

  24. Have you ever driven 200+ km/h? that was my point, if not, then you still don't know what fast is, I said that because you can't reach 200km/h in a Cavalier.
