Fulfilling plans set two years ago when it entered the American Le Mans Series, Acura Motorsports announced that will move to LMP1 in the 2009 American Le Mans Series. De Ferran Motorsports and Patrón Highcroft Racing each will field prototypes in the Series' highest classification starting with the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March.

In 2008, Acura debuted the second evolution of its LMP2 racecar at the Sebring 12 hours. Of the three cars prepared for the season, the Patron Highcroft Acura is fastest. It s joined by a XM Satellite Radio AGR car and a Lowe's Fernandez Racing car.

Several; major enhancements were released for the NSX line in 1997. A larger more powerful engine was included which was mated to a new mated to a six-speed transmission. Subtle changes indcluded larger, more refined brakes, new aluminum wheels and a new electric steering system.

Built in a limited series of 50 cars, the Zanardi edition was basically a lightweight NSX. A lighter rear spoiler, single pane rear glass, BBS wheels and a lighter batterey helped this edition of the NSX shed 150 lbs off the production version.

The NSX set new ground, by offering one of the first Japanese supercars that would saturate both the American and Japanese markets. It was the NSX's lightweight aluminum construction, mid engined layout and modest price which made it hit across the globe.
