Opel's designers have presented a host of fresh ideas for the next generation of open top driving. Instead of a conventional convertible top, the Frogster has an electrically powered roller cover to provide weather protection & security. With four individually folding seats, the driver can turn the Frogster into a convertible or pickup. When parking, the cover slides forward, like a shutter, to close at the base of the windshield.

The name Frogster came from an early chapter of Opel's history. In 1924, the company enjoyed huge success with a small 4/12 HP open road car that people called the tree frog becuase of its green color.
