1956 Enzmann 506

1956 Enzmann 506

Between 1956 and 1961, some 100 cars were built in Schupfen by the Enzmann Brothers. Most were made from VW frames and light-weight plastic bodies while the power came mostly from VW or Porsche units.

Thanks to their reduced weight, the performance of the Enzmann roadsters were often superior to those with more weight and power. The most potent Enzman roadsters featured 130 bhp Porsche engines, in a lightweight package weighing as little as 510 kgs. Despite these figures, most of the cars still are recieved as a threat to Porsche 550 owners, who can’t tend not to look past the few VW-engined, 30 bhp coupes.
