Maybe a planes or 'Boenig' page.

This is a 240 million Boeing 767. I've seen pictures of 4 or 5 of these, one for each member of the royal family.

Yes, it's real and not a PS. I have this picture in high resolution and could not find anything wrong. I could not identify the body kit in that Porsche. Looks like some kind of after market kit and not something build by tuners like Gemballa or Ruf.

Rare S73 AMG owned by one of the Sultans in Malaysia who, apparently bought this from the Sultan of Brunei
Some time ago we've had a discussion on Fchat and Carpassion about that car. I had doubts that it was ex-Brunei, because it was part of a japanese collection (the one that also includes the CLK LM) (at least I thought it was). I thought that the japanese owner bought this car new from HWA. A few weeks ago I realised that the best known pics of that S73 T were taken in front of a dealer in Singapore, that also has the ex-Brunei RHD CLK GTR and 600 Landualet and rumours are that there also is a CLK GTR roadster.
I now think that that car indeed is ex-Brunei and that the japanese car is another car.

Do you have some more info on the Malaysian owner?

Did you take those pictures? Awesome

I found some Aston Martin's coachbuilt by Aston Martin's Works Service. I think they were all shipped to Brunei. All are based on the last handbuilt Aston Martin, the V8 Vantage. They come out of the book Aston Martin: Power, Beauty and Soul by David Dowsey.(which I do not have by the way).

Great stuff!
About two months ago I started to search info surrounding the Aston specials. I used the info surrounding that book as a starting point and started to gather info, but at one point I stopped with the intention of continuing that little project in the future. But now you've done it (for a big part) for me Sweet!

I've been busy today organising the stuff that I had and will post it in a little bit ..

I thought it would be cool to post some info for every Aston Martin Brunei Special, so here it is. I've taken the discriptions from Tim Cottingham's astonmartins.com and editted it here and there.

1991 Aston Martin Virage Lightweight GT
This car built to special order with a special engine has very distinctive front lights that transforms the look of the standard Virage. Notice the bonnet bulge, 6.3 conversion wheels, the extra vents in the bonnet and ahead of the rear wheels and a revised front air dam.

Aston Martin Vantage Special Series I
This is the modern and big version of the DB4 GT Zagato. At least 2 were made, a red and a black one.

Aston Martin Vantage Special Series II
Well this supercharged Vantage based 2 seater is a bit more difficult to describe. It's a bit of a non-descript coupe not like anything really.
One car of these may be loacted in the UK.

I think one of these is featured as the cover photo on Dowsey's book.

1997 Aston Martin AM3
The AM3 is quite unusual for an Aston as it was bodied by Pininfarina in Italy, a company much more associated with Ferrari. The very odd and distinguishing feature of the AM3 is a sort of black plastic looking nose cone which encompasses the lights and grille. From pictures I've seen, it looks like a smoked black plastic. The rear lights are behind a full width smoked black panel. At least two were made, one in red and one in black, none of the AM3's were in garage 5 at the time the list was copied.

1997 Aston Martin AM4
AM4 is the second Pininfarina car, which is best described as a large DB7 on the Vantage chassis - much more conventional than AM3 at the front. The rear lights are again behind a full width black (or perhaps smoked plastic) full width panel similar to that on AM3.

At least three were built, of wich one is red and one is black:
AST AM4 BQ7999 SCFDAM2S8TBR70502
AST AM4 BQ6000 SCFDAM258TBR70504
AST AM4 BS9989 SCFDAM2S8SBR70126

A black Aston Martin AM4 has been spotted at teh Works Service in 2001 by Tim Cottingham.

Lagonda Zagato Rapide
I don't have any information about this one. If you look at the VIN's there are two Lagonda's that stand out, SCFDL01S1ETR13351 & SCFDL01S5ETR13370. Maybe that those are Zagato's. I don't have enough knowledge of Aston Martin VIN's to read them, maybe someone else can?

Here are all the Lagonda VIN's from the 'big list':
AST LAGONDA BN1299 SCFCAMZ56RBR50406
AST LAGONDA BN1288 SCFCAMZ56RBR50404
AST LAGONDA BN1999 SCFCAMZ56RBR50409
AST LAGONDA BN1298 SCFCAMZ56RBR50405
AST LAGONDA BN2088 SCFCAMZ56RBR50408
AST LAGONDA BM9991 SCFCAMZ56RBR50401
AST LAGONDA BN1899 SCFCAMZ56RBR50407
AST LAGONDA BM9990 SCFCAMZ56RBR50402
AST LAGONDA BN1289 SCFCAMZ56RBR50403
AST LAGONDA BQ7522 SCFCAM2S5TBR50427
AST LAGONDA BQ7555 SCFCAM2S7TBR50428
AST LAGONDA BQ9399 SCFCAM2S1MBR50279
AST LAGONDA KF9398 SCFDL01S5ETR13370
AST LAGONDA NONE SCFDL01S1ETR13351

1993/1994 Lagonda (Virage) 4 door Saloon & Estate
This is another of the Virage based conversions from Works Service unveiled in early 1994. It came about as the result of a million pound order for four cars for a special customer. The production side of AML produced four long wheelbase Virage chassis which then crossed to the other side of Tickford Street to AML Works Service, who fitted the saloon bodies. The car featured in the press release was finished in Hunter Green with right hand drive; this is the most recent car from AML to have the Lagonda badge.

There are also LWB versions of this model made. These cars were extended by 100mm or more.

Aston Martin Vantage Special Series Type I
This is a supercharged Vantage stretched to become a four door car. The styling is exactly the same as the two door and is characterised by having side glass within the body of the car behind the rear door at the 'C' pillar. This could very well be the succesor of the 4 door (Lagonda) Virage.
At least 2 were made, a black one and a red one complete with chromed six spoke alloy wheels.

Aston Martin Vantage Special Series Type II
Certainly based on the type I, the type II is still a four door Vantage, but looks much more complete, indeed a very convincing saloon. The doors seem to be longer and thus it'll be easier to get into than the type I. The 'C' pillar doesn't have any glass in it at all and overall the car is more rounded. The Type II keeps the six headlights and Jaffa grapefruit rear lights of the standard Vantage.

I believe three were built, a black one, a red one and a grey one.

1993 Lagonda Vignale
The Lagonda Vignale was commissioned by AML (already fully owned by Ford) from Ghia Design (also part of the Ford family) to be shown at the 1993 Geneva Salon. The exterior design was by Moray Callum - an interesting co-incidence as the Geneva Salon 1993 was the first appearance of the DB7, the work of Moray's brother, Ian. This somewhat large car was built on a Lincoln chassis with Lincoln independent front and solid self levelling rear suspension and was powered by a 4.6 litre (190bhp, 260 lb/ft) Lincoln Town Car V8. The reality of the concept is that physically, it had no recognisable AML parts at all. But, had this fabulous car made production (and many thought that it would), the chassis would have become an extruded aluminium affair, the suspension was to be fully independent and the engine would have been a 6.0 litre V12. Whilst these features never made it into a production Vignale - they are exactly the same as found in the the V12 Vanquish.

Certainly two Vignales were built, a grey one and a blue one. The blue Vignale was sold at the famous auction of Ford prototypes in Dearborn in June 2002 for a massive $403,500 (including buyers premium), many times above the estimate of $60,000 to $120,000. So that means that grey one was sent to Brunei, because there was a Design Project Vignale there, namely AST VIGNALE KF20 DP2138 in 1998? Or maybe not; there are some people who believe that a third Vignale was built for a wealthy client of AML, built at the Newport Pagnell factory, probably within Works Service...

Picture of the grey Vignale: http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pics/589092c.jpg
Picture of the blue Vignale: http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pics/589092d.jpg

Pretty interesting stuff he? I'll try to find out more about the 3rd Vignale and will post the info when I get some..

PS
The drawings were made by Mike Harbar and are featured in David Dowsey's book "Aston Martin : Power, Beauty and Soul".

Bentley Concept Java's from the 1994 Geneva Autoshow
I wonder if these cars went to Brunei. That could very well be the case... Two or three Concept Java Coupe's and one Java Convertible were made before or around the time of the Geneva show. Maybe they were sent/sold to Brunei before the 18 'production' Java's. Bentley needed cash, Jefri needed cars... On the other hand maybe they weren't good enough for the Royals... the 'production' Java was a great improvement on all aspects compared to the Concept.

The concepts are not on the VIN list, but the 6 P705's are also not on that list..

I hope some ultra secret Stig-like bloke from Bentley stubmles upon this thread and gives some answers lol

There really are almost no good pictures around from the '94 (and all those older shows) show, so I was really happy when I saw these :D

Many make the mistake of thinking that the Aston Martin AM3, AM4 and the Bentley B3 where built by Pininfarina. They were "only" designed there. They were actually built by Coggiola.

- Rolls Royce Brunei Specials Update -

7 Pictures of the Rolls Royce Royale: http://www.supercars.net/gallery/129612/976/12.html

The Royale is not the Royale The Bertone designed car isn't called Royale, but Majestic or Cloudesque. Jordan from www.bentleyspotting.com pointed out to me that the Rolls Royce Royale was designed and made by Robert Jankel. I've contact with him and he's a real cool guy with a really cool website. He's also intrigued by the Brunei cars and has some interesting thoughts:

- Rolls Royce Royale -
From pictures of this car it is hard to tell the massive size of the vehicle. It is half a foot higher than the Silver Spur and 46" longer, but still with two adjoining doors.

Five Rolls Royce Royale's were ordered by Jefri/the Sultan, four made in 1995 a the final in 1997.

The first Rolls Royce Royale made in 1995 seems to be the first car Jankel made of the model, most likely the black car from the Jankel press photography.

This assumption is made as one of the 1995 Rolls-Royce Royale cars is made on the ZW chassis designed for the Silver Spur Touring Limousine, which Jankel was making on behalf of Rolls Royce at the time.

It is the 1995 Rolls-Royce Royale, VIN number SCAZW04A8SCH80138 with Brunei registration number 1 BD that is most likely the black car above, before it was delivered to Brunei.

The next four Rolls-Royce Royale cars were made on the ZH Sultan chassis.

1995 Rolls-Royce Royale SCAZH04CHSCH00011
1995 Rolls-Royce Royale SCAZH04A3SCH00013
1995 Rolls-Royce Royale SCAZH04C3SCH00014

And the 1997 version with a slightly revised engine.
1997 Rolls-Royce Royale SCAZH16C4VCH00465

The car has a 6.75 Litre V8, single Garrett turbocharger, cross-bolted crankshaft, non catalyst engine.

From Jankel press photographs comes a white Rolls-Royce Royale, most likely on the special Sultan ZH chassis.

http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPic=y&source=gal&uID=129612&gID=976&pgID=12&pID=641420&first=true

- Rolls Royce Majestic -
The car is either called a Rolls Royce Majestic or a Rolls-Royce Cloudesque. My money is on the Rolls Royce Majestic, as it looks less like a Silver Cloud than the other different coachbuilt car below.

Two Rolls Royce Majestic cars were built, both in 1995 one one carries the Brunei registration number plate BQ 7032 the other none.

Here are the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) for each car.

1995 Rolls-Royce Majestic SCAZH04A6SCH00023
1995 Rolls-Royce Majestic SCAZH04A8SCH00024

The cars were built on the special ZH chassis like many of the other Sultan coachbuilt cars, and both had 6.75 Litre V8, single Garrett turbocharger, cross-bolted crankshaft, non catalyst engines, with active seat belts, were built in Crewe and were right hand drive.

Both cars were built at the same time and have sequential VIN numbers. It is not known if the car bodies were built in Italy or England.

http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPic=y&source=gal&uID=129612&gID=976&pgID=12&pID=640098&first=true

- Rolls Royce Cloudesque -
This is again a 1995 Rolls Royce, either a Rolls Royce Cloudesque or a Rolls Royce Majestic. I am guessing Rolls Royce Cloudesque as it looks older than the Bertone, is more retro and has Silver Cloud IIIesque head lights.

Three Rolls Royce Cloudesque cars were made, two in 1995 and another in 1997. The cars featured 6.75 Litre V8, naturally aspirated, non-catalyst exhaust system engines, were built in Crewe, right hand drive with twin air bags.

What is interesting is that two cars are in Brunei and one is in the UK. The registration number plate of the UK car is N282 AMP so keep your eyes open and camera phones ready British folk! The other two cars are in Brunei with number plates BQ 6363 and KF 7899.

Here are the VIN for the cars.

1995 Rolls-Royce Cloudesque SCAZH00C6SCH00062
1997 Rolls-Royce Cloudesque SCAZH13C4VCH00468

These cars were built at different times and not together like the Majestic.

Some thoughts on the Cloudesque or Majestic names.

The 50/50 chance for the names is a harder one than it looks. From the information we know one has airbags, and the other does not. Can we tell from these photos, probably not. One has a turbo charger and the other not. Can we tell from the outside, no. But which car is larger and needs more power? One was by designed by Bertone the other is unknown. Two cars were made at the same time for one, three at different times for the other. This is interesting. Why was that so? One car is in the UK, the rest in Brunei. Which car would make UK regulations? I have been second guessing my bet between the Cloudesque or the Majestic all along. Also one 1995 Phantom V SCAZH00A9SCH00071 was made, what does that look like?

Rolls Royce President limousine
The Rolls Royce is a raised rear coach seat Landaulette version of a Rolls Royce President limousine by Robert Jankel based on the Silver Spur, featuring a rear coach seat cloth canopy and extensive gold decorative trimmings, with large gold state coat of arms to the front and sides which when combined is as subtle as a nuclear bomb. Oh, with faux oak bumper bars for good measure as well.

The wedding car is most likely one of these cars from 1992 on the ZW chassis made by Jankel for non Park Ward limousine production.

Quote from mavmav
Many make the mistake of thinking that the Aston Martin AM3, AM4 and the Bentley B3 where built by Pininfarina. They were "only" designed there. They were actually built by Coggiola.
Yeah, good info man!

- PininFarina, Coggiola and Italtecnica -

Allthough the Aston Martin AM3, AM4 and the Bentley B3 were thought up and designed at Pininfarina. The actual build of these cars were done by the company Coggiola. This company is known for their scale models, show- prototypes, concept cars, luxury limousines, light truck cabins, helicopters and light airplanes, mostly ordered by the big firms. An example of one of those builds can be found here, the proces of an Aston Martin AM3:
http://www.coggiola.com/inglese/process.htm

The same thing goes for the Jaguar XJ220 Pininfarina and the Ferrari 456 Venice Estate. These were sent to Italtecnica to be made. Italtecnica has been involved in motorsport, has collaborated frequently with the most prestigious automotive houses and bodywork designers for the construction of prototype cars, taking care mainly of the mechanical aspect of such cars, and has set up an engine tuning department.
Here are the facts of the two Brunei special jobs:

PININFARINA input: Jaguar XJ 220 restyling
Target: mechanical parts update
ITALTECNICA works:
* Electronic sequential gearbox installation - Williams F1
* Cooling system study
* Electric components, studies, drawings and installation
* Power-assisted steering installation
* Studies and drawings
* Building new parts
* Car assembling
* Development tests

PINIFARINA input: Ferrari 456
Target: car transformation from coupè to station wagon
ITALTECNICA works:
* Transformation from manual to automatic transmission
* Cooling system study
* Studies and drawings
* Electric components studies, drawings and installation
* Building new parts

I thought the yellow Val D'Iser was perfect with it's red leather interior, but now look at these new pics I found: McDonalds style, typicly something you would find in Brunei .

Rolls Royce President Limousine by Jankel (the wedding chariot) (17 pictures)
There were two Royal weddings held in Brunei recently. The Crown Prince (who is allready married for some time now) had a different gold weapon on the car than the recent newly weds, their weapon was signifacantly smaller.
BTW the same story as the Marconi Ferrari FX and the yellow McLaren F1 #014 goes for this car: I've got lots more pictures, but I won't upload those, because it will got a bit too messy. I've tried to upload the pics that give the best view of the car

Hummer H2 (1 picture)
It looks like it has those diamond encrusted rims (maybe even those infamous million dollar rims), I'm not sure though, the picture is too small..
