Wow it's absolutly amazing. 600 HP on a 2 litre engine, in 1978!! Its even better than the 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo with 500 HP and 2.2 litre.
And this doesn't have turbo?

600 Hp is mighty impressive by any standard. However the engine these cars came with as standard also had a great legacy of giving the M10 engine block to the BMW F1 turbo cars, which ran a modified M10 block, 4 valve head with two camshafts, approx 4.0+ BAR of turbo boost, 1.5L displacement and produced over 1280hp... Now there is a engine one would love to get transplanted into a 320i...
Only thing I can say is one would go broke just spending cash on tires

damn I'd just wish go-karts would be somewhat controllable with an engine like that in the back *longer wheelbase necessary for sure*, if anyone ever put a "real" car's engine in a kart instead of a Rotax thing, just let me know, I'm more than curious to hear about it.
just the weight/hp ratio.. less kilos than horses..
but about this bmw: oh man it rocks!!!

this make me crazy how com 600 hp this is unbellivabel to me it only 4cylender with no turbu, blower, compressor...etc. it is the most strainge engin i`v ever heared about in my lttel experience. can any one please answer my quistions what is the secret behind such powerful engins what may be its maximum speed

this is exactly what makes me crazy, 600 hp?? and for what? for an inline-4 cylender 2.0 letre engin without turbo,compressor,blower,nos ....etc made sence 1973 or my be befor. can any one pleas tell me what my be the secrets behined such a strong engins in technical terms.(a nothe exampel is the nissan skyline gt whith 6-inlined cylenders and 800hp!!!!!!!!! )
