I got bored so I've done some digging on the history of these cars, here's what I've found so far.
50 made, 16-18 racing versions depending on who you ask, some even say either 31 or 37 were made in total rather than 50.
001 - Racing Version - Race Number #1 - Matt Aitken's car from the race series - Still wears that livery, and was for sale in Las Vegas in 2008 http://www.carpictures.com/Jaguar/-XJR-15-First-of-50-Built-1990-08CBE490127743 003 - Racing Version - #3 - Andy Evans - Still wears that livery, owned by Vijay Mallya, at his collection near San Francisco 004 - Racing Version 010 - Road Version - In the US 011 - Racing Version - #4 - Bob Wollek - Still wears that livery, for sale in 2008 - http://www.carpictures.com/Jaguar/XJR-15-1990-08BOF115315946 016 - Road Version - In the Uk 020 - Racing Version - #11 - Derek Warwick - Still wears that livery 022 - Racing Version - #16 - Ian Flux - Originally went to Japan, sold by Bonhams but can't remember when. 027 - Racing Version 029 - Is in the UK, can't remember if it's road or race. 037 - Racing Version 047 - Racing Version - #5 - Tiff Needell - Currently just the same blue as the road car, for sale on virtually every exotic car sales site by seemingly different people. 049 - Road Version - Blue - Sold by RM in Monaco this year, was owned by Lindsay Fox and stored in his collection in Australia. 050 - Road Version - Blue - Originally German.
There are problems with tracking cars.
This is one of the Japanese cars, potentially a racing version but you never know. [ http://www.endurance-info.com/2007_Le_Mans/2008_Tokai_XJR15.JPG
Looks like it's been cannibalised by the university of Tokai to make an LMP car, they used the XJR-15 to test the engine they made, but I've no idea what's happened to it now.
Here's another Japanese car, and it's been repainted green. For sale last year with this company, no idea about it now. http://www.ag-motoyama.com/others/xjr15_080501_3/
Then the ZAZ Museum has a blue one http://motorsports.zent.co.jp/machine011.html
The famous orange version is often referred to as 001 but I don't think it actually is, also referred to as Tom Walkinshaw's personal car so perhaps it's the original R9-R prototype? It's supposedly for sale here, but the lack of information and generally untrustworthy look of the site would suggest otherwise. http://www.racedandrallied.com/race-cars-for-sale/jaguar-xjr15
Anyways, if anyone can contribute with pics and more information on the XJR-15 then this thread could be fairly decent...or it could just turn into a typical SC.net thread and die out without anything.

Chassis #050.
That car, and it's story is what sparked me into searching these cars. Glad to see the owner is getting to grips with it.
Are you the same Alan from the XJR thread on Fchat?

Quote from basman007 9 and 46 are in the abode of peace.
It took me a while to realise what you meant here.
Just taking a look at your image here.

Just me, or does that look like KE88 as the registration plate?
According to the list of cars posted ages ago, that'd make it chassis #009.
I'll send you a PM on TS tomorrow mate. Cheers for your help so far.

Man - I thought tracking F1s was difficult with the number of silver ones that exist. You're insane if you think you'll be able to do this with 40+ blue XJR-15s.
That being said, best of luck and here's pics I have of 004.

Here's another image of the green one that was not on the Japanese website you linked to. Can't help at all with the number.
Then another one with unique body mods - someone must have the details on this car for sure.
One image of race #15 - no idea on the chassis number.
A pair of shots of race #17 with a massive wing.

____________________________ I understand how scissors can beat paper, and I get how a rock can beat scissors, but there's no #$%#ing way paper can beat rock. Is paper supposed to magically wrap around rock and leave it immobile? Why the hell can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody. A rock would tear that shit up in 2 seconds. When I play rock paper scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, oh shit Im sorry, I thought paper would protect you, asshole.

These photos were taken at Brooks auction in 1999. I don't know the chassis number but maybe that detail will help to figure it out.

Photo from August 2003 RM Auction in Monterey of 049 before it was purchased by John O'Quinn.
I have maybe a dozen more small photos of this car from earlier in the year when I believe Mike Sheehan was trying to sell it. Let me know if you want them.

Erik this is fantastic cheers!
I managed to find info and identify about sixteen cars before this, but you're right, it's gonna be practically impossible to get them all right. Especially the Japanese ones.
I've gotta find out more about the XJR-15LM, I've seen photos of two of them in Japan which won't help at all. Your picture of the green one is another new one I think. Apparently they've got 7.4 litre engines with more than 700bhp.
I have a lead on race number #7, it's just whether I can really bring myself to start emailing former owners and so on, it looks like race number #17 was the same car as well.
I'd love any more photos you've got, can never have too many photos of the XJR-15 eh?
